@1xbg+19k89TGH What your friend told you, also happened to me. I was constantly receiving praise. Managers and colleagues complimented me and my work often. I did not expect that to happen to me. I was expecting to be woking in corporate soon. Because my manager could not find fault with my work, I was told I was not a good fit. Well I got a really great recommendation from one of the leaders. It was political. A couple of weeks before it happened, my manager warned me of another manager who I worked with. This other manager had a lot of pull I suppose. They must have been going around and badmouthing me. If you are a manager then you are in a club. They support and back each other. Even if one of them is wrong, others will go along most of the time to support and keep peace. This is how the real world is college co-eds. I saved them a lot of money. They could have had my back supported me.

The quote about being late to the employee forum because his private jet had trouble landing is priceless.
Encapsulates the absurdity and the tone deafness of the privileged few.

Meanwhile, the titanic sinks and boxes at being sent to wrong recipients. Classic Exxon.

@1xbg+19k89TGH Spot on! Not a good fit is a way to legally fire anyone for anything. Race, gender, age. Maybe they don’t like your politics, you may make people feel uncomfortable if you don’t laugh at their jokes, whatever. It’s not right.

And if this was real reason to why someone go, whenever that person started to show signs of not being a good fit, a good leader would have came to them addressed it with them so they could change. They did not do that with your two friends because they actually were a good fit. In my opinion they were too old for that boss.

Also don’t you love when these managers bring up somethings someone or some people said yet they never say what was said or who said it in effect leaving you unable to defend yourself? It’s called a kangaroo trial. Banana republic.

Two of my former co-workers in different groups were recently PIP'ed. Each had more than 20 yrs with EM. The gist of both of their performance feedback is that they are "not a good fit". There were no examples of bad performance. In fact, each were told that their work was excellent. "Someone" (supervisor would not say who) decided they no longer fit, and the supervisor refused to discuss. All they would say is that it is justifiable based on the "Talent Management System." It's difficult for me to even believe that if an employee has 10 or 15 years, that they would suddenly be considered "not a good fit." These actions might not be illegal based on U.S. labor law, but something about this practice is just not right.
