Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

At some point it sinks in

What sinks in?

That the job losses, instability, and general downfall isn't just in your fishbowl at Conoco.

Cities are being overrun by homelessness, tent cities, 30 million have been unemployed for almost a year, riots are commonplace, the govt has to give out free money just to keep the peace and prevent all out chaos, and there is not on speck of light at the end of the tunnel.

The moment this dawns on most people, is after they lose their job and are relieved of their sense of entitlement, excessive pride, and delusion that they'll sail through this disaster without a care.

A funny thing happens between your desk/office and the meeting with HR where you're handed an envelope.....reality sets in.

OP sounds like she/he is in great distress and needs someone to talk to. With respect, You might want to speak with your doctor about your feelings and see what kind of help may be available.
