I thought a poster was joking that seagate had this department but looked it up and appears real and has an svp running it. What does it do? Have they improved what you do?

Why does Seagate call the latest attempt at making a profit Lyve?
Because HDD is dead.
BE is blocked from Lyve? Never heard that. Say more
BE can't fix a broken lightbulb without a ten page business process plan and five directors fighting over grammar and PowerPoint fonts. If the CEO wants real innovation at Seagate, he needs to get rid of BE and watch the company explode in a good way. LYVE is doing great because BE is blocked from it.
HAMR will not get launched without business excellence and is the future of HDD.
Isn't it knock on wood? Touch wood sounds naughty.
@1hyk+19hl6Roo: Factual yes, not on the team, bull $hit. Who knows or cares what "Malcom Baldridge" theory is? Your answer was straight outta BE fool. You be on the team or brainwashed by them.
So, I actually am the only one who posted a factual answer to the question asked about what BE does and I get voted down? WTF. I don't work in BE. I answered the question of what they do without opinion. You people are ridiculous.
Internal studies have shown the Business Excellence function has added $12.3B in market cap to stx value.
If that is what the team does it should be in operations and report to that evp, not ceo. I hear if you ask nicely they will create a pretty process map for you.
Everyone has to do something. The fact they are basically compliance and certification yet have a title of Business Excellence pretty much explains why they're the butt of jokes.
Looks like someone from BE is posting in defense of their boss and their position. Wake up BE is a complete waste of corporate money and the laughing stock of this forum. Fortunately my manager and director don't interact with this fake department, yet?! Touch wood.
With the ongoing quality issues and worst in the industry, they need to step it up.
They do ISO 9001 and ISO 22301 quality and business continuity systems planning and certification. They are involved in the covid response as part of managing risk and maintaining the function of business. Also internal audit of business unit compliance to standards above as well as progress on performance excellence based on the Malcom Baldridge based theory. I think they may also oversee the environmental responsibility policy and programs for the company as well as compliance to environmental standards. Other stuff too. So, what are you up to?
It does not do much. CEO needed to hit his diversity metric for direct staff and create illusion of diversity at stx. He put his long time pet in charge though should have riffed her 10 years ago but she is available at his beck and call like a good pet.
