Why does it seem like the people who posts here are incredibly negative? People act like COP owes them something. You are in a voluntary work agreement with COP. If it is so bad and the company just keeps doing "horrendous" things then you should probably find a different job that suits your needs better.

If people are this negative in their day to day, I understand why you might feel unstable in your job.

Time to quit finding excuses for unhappiness and the reason you may get let go.

CONOCOPHILLIPS has lured all the good workers from good companies and once the plant is setup and running(after draining all the juice from these employees) these employees are laid off. HARD WORK at ConocoPhillips doesnt make you avoid layoff, what can save you is licking bosses A– only. Thats the problem here. "THOUGHTS"

How about because (1) the employees are shareholders and (2) the ELT doesn’t actually own the company themselves even though the act like it and pack/expand the Board of Directors so that they do whatever they want? They gave themselves promotions
in 2020 while blocking promotions for the minions & rescinded measly raises.

Put simply, current and former employees post here because they are angry and bitter. It’s very clear in most of the comments. The real question is why are they angry and bitter. The answer is because they’ve been lied to (happened to me), or exposed to the hypocrisy of our leadership (seen this uncountable times). If leadership walked the talk this board would be empty. If instead of SPIRIT values management simply said “our compensation and friends are paramount and everyone else can s— lemons” at least everyone in the company would be on the same ground and honest with one another.

The company talks spirit values but they do not apply to employees. The best reason for staying at ConocoPhillips is the money. If they paid less money they couldn’t hire enough people.

Why this negative?
How about because leadership constantly drills into employees’ heads the importance of “people” and “safety” and “integrity”, but then exposes them all to life-threatening danger, constant stress, and double speak that means absolutely nothing?
How about because employees are the very last to know what’s going on in major events that this organization is going through because leadership doesn’t trust any of us with anything ever?
How about because poor managers are never replaced or let go, but promoted upward to put their cronies, drinking buddies, and buttlickers into choice jobs, while good, hard working employees are rated as average year after year?
How about because despite the constant promise of “better communication” and “transparency”, employees are instead treated to endless repetition of information-bereft slogans and hollow promises?
This all comes from the top and oozes and dribbles and leaks downward. If you can’t see this, you’re probably part of the problem.
