I remember when Ed Whitacre retired, he was looking forward to running his bulldozer on his ranch in Enus TX. He was pulled back into the workforce by President Obama to navigate GM through their bankruptcy. Later went back to bulldozing. Why can't Randall just enjoy his retirement, I must be missing something.

His retirement monthly pay is more than I make in 15 yrs annually. He needs to go.
“ But that's Ok they just need him to find the new CFO, and he has the qualification for that job.”
I thought the new CFO was announced months ago, the guy from Warner Media.
It was just assumed that Randall would buy a bulldozer too and Ed and Randall could move dirt around on the ranch together.
You do realize Whitacre stuck us with Randall right? Randall started at SBC they same year he married Whitacre's daughter. Why do you think he was hand picked as the next CEO?
Of course do you not remember the 3 year 9 million dollar deal that Whitacare did when he retired. Nothing new for retired CEO's. They want to keep active for a while. Now Randall has a restriction on how much time he spends for the company. Only couple days a week at most. But that's Ok they just need him to find the new CFO, and he has the qualification for that job.
No one else would hire Randall on the open market except us.
Continuity ...of idiocy...
Cronyism at its best with these guys !
Enjoy his retirement? Randall "the Vandal"? That would require imagination. This is the guy that bought a Satellite company thinking there was no maintenance necessary. Then he found out that satellites have to be replaced from time to time. Oops.
Why retire when you can continue to s— the company dry of money? If I was offered to retire but still collect a paycheck for “consulting services” I would continue ripping att off as well.
