Rumors of Grant Prideco and Tuboscope possibly being sold!!

Was golfing last week with a buddy at DNOW. He told me that he went fishing with a few of their VPs and that there were possible talks of Grant and Tuboscope being sold off. Supposedly Premier was interested in Grant. Anyone else hear this?

Sir, you work at Tuboscope, what have you done? Your some old guy who’s buddies with someone higher up on the ladder. If this were any other company, you’d be sweeping the floors.

Ah yes. Nobody cares about what is going on in the US on a forum related to... a company based in Houston, TX, USA.

Ok buddy. Makes sense.

@bfmr+19dpMpIC I really don't care what you think, I haven't said one word about retiring, why would i do that? To let some snotty nose do nothing boy like you step up? You have no clue what i have done, what i am doing at the company or in life general and it's none of your business. So again i will tell you, shut up and listen. Quit complaining, learn some respect and grow some balls.

Thing is none of us want to "be somebody" like you. Don't worry, you sure were somebody. You can retire now with this legacy. Your peers will talk about how poor of a job you did and the only time your name will ever come up won't be because of any accomplishments, technology, or sales - but shaking heads of how poor of a job and terrible of a tenure you had and how much you set Tuboscope back. How those left here can move forward after the "somebody" that you were. The stain on this company. Or, perhaps, you'll be the last generation that will be remembered as the ones that ran it into the ground. Boy, you really were "somebody" alright.

Is there a single VP that isn't already past retirement age / already set up? Maybe VP OPs? Not a single one of them have ANY incentive to make decisions further than a quarter at a time to milk the company dry cutting everything and everyone to chase that sweet EBITA until they walk away to their second homes in E Rock or NOLA.

Pathetic leeches who oversaw the failure of a decent company, particularly engineering - decades with nothing to show, tech just fell further and further behind the industry every year under his tenure.

When does our new strategic tag team of sales with Les the Mess and Rick the Slick start paying off? Surely these two Titans of Sales can turn our business around. I know, let’s set up a 1/2 day sales call on wednesdays between the sales team and our facilities maintenance crews and focus on business development. Dave the Fave Couch can serve refreshments to these two sales juggernauts while they lead our dream team to EBITDA victory. At the end of each call, the self named “Coach” can put on his best Stuart Smalley impersonation and tell everyone “they’re good enough and smart enough and dog gone it, people love them”. Upon completion of the call, we can schedule a company wide plant managers meetings for Thursday’s where we spend 5-6 hours discussing important things like LSU football and how many birdies the sales team hit the prior weekend while “working from home”.

It'll be ok. The group from R&M is almost finished (but for real this time pinky promise) with finally getting their technology from the 2013 merger finally working and has the full support and resources of management to get there.

Most uninspiring leadership group in all major corporations. Most of the decisions made here, or rather the lack of decisions, leaves one to wonder, who’s in charge of this sinking ship?

Blind leading the blind there. So glad I’m not there anymore to deal with that circus. Most unprofessional company I’ve ever worked for.

But but but tubo inspection engineering just brought in outside hire and rerganized and created an r&d group. Certainly we can easily erase and turn around the decades of this VPs failed tech investments and lack of innovation!

Tuboscope will be broken off in smaller pieces. Their inspection group will be dismantled. All of their tech and equipment is ancient like their management team. All old white guys. There’s really nothing valuable within Tuboscope

I would not be surprised if NOV sold off either one of these groups, especially Tuboscope.
