“Let’s blame COVID for everything”

I have noticed that for everything bad that happens in this company, superiors blame the pandemic. COVID has become an excuse for everything. I don’t think that’s the case. There were a lot of problems even before the pandemic so even if the pandemic had not happened, I doubt very much that they would be in a much better situation now. Or am I wrong?

Unfortunately this is what is the main problems dragging this company down and Mike #2 has had over one year to sort this out - unacceptable.

That’s funny. In the past 6 months I’ve gotten 2 new managers who now need to justify their existence by giving me work to do that is extraneous to the actual work I do.
I’ve got as much work experience as both of them and they’ve contributed little if anything to the project itself.

Theres layers upon layers of managers, they dont have enough things to do.

Add a few more layers so managers can manage managers, this has now spiralled out of control.

Mike you need to speak with the people on the shop floor how wide the manager layers have become.

You're not wrong here. When management blames it on some arbitrary circumstance, it means they've failed as a manager. What's more, they see it as an opportunity to do something what usually is out of the ordinary, now becomes self evident.

No you not wrong, for managers within this company it is the convenient thing to blame on their own failures. Come on Mike#2 get rid of the various layers of management from the company where most of them just bring the company down.
