For those that survived the layoffs we are the biggest losers. We work mandatory Saturday rotations and deal with screaming customers, agents and shops wondering why cars haven’t been inspected in over 2-3 weeks . Then also, Rentals aren’t not extended because of these delays as well. What a cluster! We’re tired of working long hours .

Allstate isn’t doing things “faster” or “better.”
How long does it take to get a simple claim settled or a body on the phone these days???
Long hold times, cars sitting in shops without allowing rental, customers forced to do their own claim work, etc...
This is neither “faster” or “better.”....
It is current “leadership” making a quick buck at the expense of what used to be a proud leader in the industry....
Supply and demand for human beings to do the work of Allstate in a mega competitive insurance industry is what it is. Allstate needs to do things better, faster, cheaper. The shareholders demand it. The policyholders demand it too. If Allstate can be price competitive with its insurance product offerings then it has no future. We will see more huge investments in technology, more jobs shipped overseas and more veteran and more costly employees terminated and replaced with cheaper more energetic talent. Allstate can no longer afford to be a safe harbor employer. In many ways it is becoming a sweat shop. There will always be endless supply of people who will come in from the outside to take these jobs. And when they burn out or want to make more money, then they’ll leave and be replaced. High turnover will be the new norm at Allstate. And Exclusive Agents? Well if they didn’t already see the handwriting on the wall they are going the way of the dinosaur in this industry.
Hey director, what makes me most angry is your irresponsible comment lumps the rest of the leadership, past and present, into a category of leadership that does not care about the welfare of employees of this company. Somebody needs to relieve you of your duties
Hey director, what’s your plan to help bring your direct reports back into the fold of being empowered and trusting the company. That shou.d be job 1..Can’t wait for your response.
Although I am guessing We will all get crickets from your apparent lacke of leadership
Hey Director, there were people that were at least 4 levels above your pay grade above you that were eliminated. Why are you suddenly such the smart person.
Cool, the kool-aid drinking, boot licking Home Office director making $200k is here to tell us what a great company this is. Being in Home Office, most of your employees on the floor won't tell you this. But let me assure you their morale is low, they don't like you, they don't respect your strategic leadership cough expected from a director level, and are generally miserable with their work environment. Yes, management by fear works in the short term, but the company cannot thrive as you put it in the long term. Is it your talents and daily energy you bring to work that has driven Allstate from 2nd to 4th?
To the director....as a fellow director whose job was eliminated, no assessment offered, your comments disgust me. Your comments epitomize all that is wrong with this company right now. Where did the somehow misplaced or forgotten manifesto of Our Shared Purpose go? I’m sure you humped that for as long as it made career sense for you to do it. It doesn’t seem to be in existence anymore..
While I am the first to admit that after 35 yrs, I am lucky to have been eliminated. While I still speak with employees every week, this much I know. From almost the top of F tower to the person on the street, people are angry and miserable. Frontline, managers, sr mgrs, directors, officers and EVPs were let go. And you sit there with your measly Director title bashing people. My guess is with that type of leadership skill, you may last another 12 months at best. Surely, you will never make officer.
While I agree to the strategy of putting the expense saving back into cost For the consumer, here is the missing. Agents will never be able to make up the revenue and mktg expense with the new business they can write with lower prices. They are about 12 months away from actually realizing this.
I have bashed the claims and service people on this site before, they do need to take control of their own situation because the company does not owe them much in today’s world. The rules have changed.
That said director, my first take on your response is that you are no leader and can’t wait for you to come back in 6-9 months whining about how the company did you wrong. This much I know, I would never want to work for someone like you.
Morale has got to be at an all time low. Hiding behind an assessment to layoff some top loyal performers and doubling the duties of those that remained is the plan . The amount of cars on the roads hasn’t decreased as predicted by Tommy. Hoping the bigwigs will see by the 3rd quarter the mistakes made and hire more staff to service customers .
Yes this is only a job, we all were committed to success and attempted to service our claim customers in a proper coherent manor. Allstate succeeds the Employees succeed policyholders are satisfied with our claim handling. Recently the trend has changed it seems this once great company lost focus on policyholders, employees and any semblence of rational decision making. Bogged down in minutia, huddles, never ending useless processes, upper and middle management looking out for and covering their a$$. Yes management has to follow orders we understand, the source of this sad state of affairs are the decision makers. Ineptitude at a higher level is dropping this company to it's knees. A wasteland in the making, customers will never forgive this chaos and horrible treatment. Without them we all fail. Very poor leadership for decades, this is well known by all outside observers.
You "Mr/Ms Director" are a main part of the problem. You are a blue kool aid drinking, brown nosing pathetic sit who sold their soul to the devil. You make sux figures and only look out for your own hide. As a director you are obligated to defend and serve the interests and conditions of your department. By posting this corporate nut hugging tripe you are failing at your duties. Allstate has abused, scammed, lied to, and cast off thousands of their own out jobless into a global pandemic only to fill the pockets of Tom and Glenn. Allstate is a sinking ship and borderline criminal in their treatment of employees, processes, lies and deceit to their customers, and devaluing the employee base. It is only a matter if time "Director" until you get that meeting with HR as you are thrown out like trash. Our comments are "appalling"? Look in the mirror. You are complicit in letting this all happen.
There's a lot of dead weight at Allstate. People who moan and complain for the minute the day starts. They don't work all that hard, they aren't particularly bright or motivated human beings and they feel that is their God given right for Allstate to provide them with cushy lifetime employment that suits them. World has changed. Work hard, adapt, or fade into oblivion.
We can do both A & C. It’s called multitasking.
- You can moan and complain, and be a miserable person
- You can work hard and let personal satisfaction drive you
- You can build up your skills inventory and marketability in order to leave Allstate for a better situation
Someone seems to be slow in their transforming. More work for the same money is by design and is now expected of you and is your new norm. You have been devalued by design. And as tired as you are of working long hours they don't care and this is again expected of you and this friend is your new normal at Allstate.
I have summited countless applications to Allstate but they all come back with "position has been filled" I'm sure you guys will have more employees to help with the back log shortly.
