Who remembers 'Wink Bucks' from when Don Winkler was CEO of Ford Credit? Time frame would have been 1999 to 2001.

CIRS was funny. All you had to do was come up with an idea, makeup a dollar amount that you were gong to save the company and you would get prizes. I got a model-t blanket for a tongue in cheek joke idea. I dont remember the specifics, but it was along the lines of "install a switch that turns on a light that heats a string that breaks and triggers a spring activated switch that turns on the radio. This will save the company 10 million due to not being sued for giving customers carpal tunnel syndrome ". The real idea was only slightly less stupid, but it won 3 of us blankets. It started as an email joke but the grade 10 got a hold of it and submitted it.

@1hfw - "There was one about getting tons of points for ideas, and people were trading in the points and getting like Mark 8's, I mean Mark VIIIs. But the name of it Escapes me."

You're thinking of the CIRS (pronounced "Sears") program...Continuous Improvement Recognition System or something along those lines.

And does "Quality is Job 1" fit in with this list of initiatives?

There was one where laminated cards were printed so you could put the card on a lanyard with your building pass. Also/ PM/EI. Lots of committees formed after the Pulse Survey results were published!

How about:
Ford 2000 ~1996
ISO 9000 ~ 1996,7 (put a lot of time into this one!)
Way Forward ~ 200?

Found this ariticle on our goals for Ford 2000.

Ooh, CTC that was a good one!
"Jacques the Knife"'s Business Leadership Initiative (BLI) – that one wasn't so bad either.
SDM Software Development Methodology (via Citibank CIO maybe?) ... big binders of documents that needed to be generated. Like Mitt R's "binders of women?" I dont know. He maybe lost because of that?
The ones that accomplish something are not so bad. The "moved cheese" ones are a little embarassing. Not sure that engineers learn best via children's type of books.

From Concept to Customer late 80's
One Ford One Team when Mullaly joined Ford timeframe
Jack Nasser had one in the late 90's about personnel competition
Full Service Supplier initiative in the early 2000's
For sure Mark Field's had one and Bill Ford Jr. has one when he was CEO
