Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Are these the final stages?

The 25% are the high performance employees living in the bubble are butt kissing, Kool aid drinking, upwarding managing, great at management speak, yes men and women, that believed their intelligence and those of their peers and the god pod is so above those of everyone else that they can manage their way into being the best O&G company on planet earth. They will also be the ones that turn out the lights for good in all the office buildings and sell off all the operating units. Keep looking while you have a job and leave when the opportunity arises, this business model is doomed to fail, is in its last cycle, and has been failing at ExxonMobil for the last 20 years, it is now in its final stages, and the 25% is responsible.

The idiocacy of this site is summed up below. One side beating their chest saying excel, powerpoint is what doomed this company and management s—s! The other saying the company is the same as it always was and nothing needs to change.

I’m not the coder, but if your career was so great and fulfilling, why are you on this site?

@1dwm+19ZyueEi

A coder. Are you SERIOUS? Can you manage oil and gas wells and facilities with billions worth of infrastructure? Can you negotiate and manage multi-billion dollar contracts? Can you meet with government leaders across the world to secure access to their concessions? No, but you can code. Stay in a Holiday Inn as well?

What you overlook my little friend are the childish hateful comments made here about anyone who is successful. You ignore those posts, but seize upon those who don’t wish EM to fail, and those who had great careers in this industry.

Jealousy will continue to breed the spite and hatred you have in your life. But me, happy as a lark. And people like you will never be able to destroy EM. It will continue to prosper for decades to come with thousands of employees and hundreds of thousands of shareholders doing just fine, and nothing you can do or say to stop it. Code that. LOL

Posted Earlier by @1plp+19WLevSp regarding future opportunites, wise words:

Org is flattening. As such the top of the pyramid has fewer job roles. People basically will be demoted as far as job duties go. Not enough work for all those people at the top of the pyramid. Find a company that is growing not shrinking if you want opportunities. Very few opportunities for advancement currently. Look at all the people stuck in planning for more than 2 years of getting c-appy roles after.

You are all overworking this thing.
XOM is already a shell of former self.
In the big scheme, the EM Wiki entry will be 2 or 3 paragraphs in 10 years.
And it's not shedding its shell, like a cicada or snake, to emerge anew, fresh and shiny.
It's a used mortar shell, good for melting down to brass buttons, inscense burners.

Among the causes are bad management, science blinders, arrogance.
If you need a sole cause: the love of money and nothing else.

ID: @1iul+19ZyueEi Your childishness and immaturity are on full display on this website. Great bullying skills. I have degrees from the top schools, and I can code in five languages. I measure success by lines of high quality code and publications, not how much money you managed to s— out of Exxon. Think about Exxon’s value and market position when you joined and what it is now... if you can think. You are a prime example of the immaturity and arrogance that causes Exxon’s failure. I’m glad I got out with good offers from better industries and my only regret is the time I wasted on xls, ppt and having childish brats like you as bosses there.

Kindergarten out for the day? LOL. Keep throwing those tantrums screaming how you mean old wealthy successful industry leaders are all losers. Meanwhile, I am a nobody who can’t cope with an entry level position at mean old EM. Boo hoo. But but but....... mommy!

All EM management, planner, VPs, presidents are some of the biggest losers and lowest intellect people brainwashed dummies on the planet. These s—ers don’t deserve to be anywhere else other than the dirty stinking EM pond. Keep them there

@1amy+19ZyueEi, @1usf+19ZyueEi: brag all you want on anonymous websites, Exxon is still a laughingstock and a failing company. If you think bullying and PowerPoint skills gained at Exxon make you a winner and a good senior manager, good luck to you. And by technical work, you probably mean Excel. Have fun, intellectually defunct losers.

Ouchie, ouchie. Fire of truth a little hot for you? LOL

I too wish you had never joined EM. Not a good match. But don’t worry about this old boomer. Less than one month after retiring very wealthy from EM, I was offered a senior management position with another company. So, contrary to your foolish assumption, I guess EM wasn’t the only company who knew a winner when they saw one. If you ever quit feeling sorry for yourself and get to work, you too might have success. Try it sometime.

Sounds to me like you're the incompetent one.. Sorry you don't know how to succeed in an owner operator company.. I'm technical and have done very very well with this company over the years.

@bsr+19ZyueEi Exxon has the most worthless, incompetent, immature and inept management at all levels from top to bottom. I quit, and if I could turn back the clock, I would never have joined such a worthless company with no value for technical work and which rewards flatterers, sycophants and bullies with managerial positions. Consider your self lucky that you have Exxon to pay you, because no normal company would hire such types. Regardless of the next 18-24 months, Exxon will fail because of the extraordinarily incompetence of its management.

Same old trolls trolling. EM is fine and is likely to have a nice run over the next 18-24 months at least. 70% will be solely due to price, nothing EM does. Remaining 30% will be a combination of whether analysts believe EM has capex and opex under control, as well as near-term results and longer term outlook. Stock should see $80/sh within 12 months. Solid forecast assuming crude remains above $60/ bbl. Most analysts are even more aggressive. Longer term outlook largely dependent on Permian and Guyana results.

For all of you forecasting that EM is doomed, there is a simple solution. Leave. EM doesn’t need or want you. You will not be missed at all. Go and prosper, with emphasis on go. Bye bye. LOL

For those staying, lots of opportunities ahead. Take advantage of current attrition and move up in the company.

Yes, EM will be here long after all of the whiners have either moved back home with mom and dad, or have joined a cult somewhere. And thanks for the dividend this month. WINNING!

I've been in the top 25% my entire career and can certainly tell you that not everyone in that bucket fits that description. Many of us technical folks rated highly are just a dependable resource that the other "high performer" managers go to for advice.

For whatever reason, technical employees that support the site and are known by site leadership are rated higher versus those that just complete technical work in EMRE or GP.

Is this post saying 25% of employees will be the cause of XOM’s demise or that all employees ranked in the top 25% fit this description?
