Claims is going to be running on an "Indian crew" quite soon so even the current "skeleton crew" here in the USA won't be needed. India being trained and licensed even on injury settlement and adjusting. Won't be pretty. Last year naysayers were claiming no way claims would be hit with layoffs and the department isn't even recognizable after 2020's hatchet job.

Every thing that Anonymous SIU and Former Employee posted.
Former SIU employee here of over 30 years I too was laid off in November. It was an extreme waive of emotions and thoughts.
Now that I am on the other side, I agree that it was the best thing that happened to me.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to live your life as prepared for a layoff as you possibly can. Reduce or get rid of your debt. Get a part time job if you have to. Be in the best position you can put yourself in to reduce stress. If you don’t get laid off, then you have none or reduced debt and an emergency fund!
When layoff rumors rumors swirled a year or two earlier, I made a plan. Be in control as much as you can be. Have a plan and set goals. Taking as much control as you can will lessen the blow of a layoff or reduce anxiety hearing rumors.
Deep breath everyone. You’ll be ok.

I had been with Allstate for over 30 years and in SIU when laid off in November. I can honestly tell you it was the best thing for my Life and my health. My blood pressure is back to normal. I no longer have an ulcer from the way I was treated in Roseville California working in that joke of an environment. No human should ever be treated the way they treated people there I have my life back and loving it. Jesus Christ is Lord and pulled me through it. He didn’t keep me from it but pulled me through it. To Him goes the glory for all circumstances. It made me stronger as a person and I can appreciate you all are going through by staying and taking care of your families

I am a former Allstate leader who was laid off in November. I can tell you honestly that we were told nothing until the very last minute. I was always honest with my team and told them what I knew, but it was never more than they already knew themselves. The way the November layoffs went down was the RCL didn’t get names till Monday, we got names Tuesday, and we told our people Wednesday. It was scheduled and very formal. The local leaders were left completely out of the loop by design. Home office wanted it that way. They treated their own RCLs like adversaries and like trash, just like they do to all their employees. My RCL was as upfront and honest as possible, but knew very little till the last minute and nearly had a nervous breakdown over it. Tom Wilson is garbage. Joe Lacher wasn’t wrong about him in 2011 and by the way, Joe isn’t doing so bad for himself now. For any of you who are let go in the future, consider it Allstate doing you a favor. Everyone I was laid off with is happier now and in a better position where they feel valued. Not just leaders, people from all segments. If you are let go, there are better things ahead for you. Keep the faith and know your value.

Why do people believe layoffs are not happening again? Wishful thinking? It's what helps you sleep at night? I knew layoffs were going to happen last round and told ppl and in no one my office thought it couldn't happen. It did. My RCL in my last office revealed more than he was probably allowed. I asked my CSL recently and she confirmed there will be more layoffs this year but didn't say more. You think your position is safe in auto because you're already drowning? They do not care..if you can't handle the workload they can find someone in India who will gladly do it for less money and more hours. In claims, maybe the safest positions are field adjusters (but not all) and litigation staff. At some point they will eliminate field adjusters again and make all inspections virtual.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Don’t be naive. The real work is going to be done overseas. We are here to facilitate that for as long as they need us. We cannot compete with the vast number of Indians just waiting for our jobs from American. Allstate is huge in India. Research it. It’s all over the Internet. FNOL and many other departments are already there. Get a solid plan in place for yourself. The days of Allstate office life in the USA are gone forever. It hurts folks bit it’s the truth. We are on borrowed time.

There’s no one else to lay off anymore . Adjusters are down to the bare minimum already. If they lay any more adjusters off there won’t be anyone to inspect cars or make liability anymore . I wonder if Express reps are going to start getting licensed abd doing liability .

What's with the sudden influx of doomsayers with anonymous "claim leader" source?

Allstate didn't tell "claim leaders" anything last layoff, and I doubt they'd tell them anything this time either. My own department head, as well as my own supervisor [who was laid off BTW], knew no more than I did.

Any planned layoffs are being held close to the vest. Unless you're upper management, or have access to upper management, like the rest of us you don't know c-ap.
