I’m always ashamed to tell other people when they ask me what it’s like to work at Follet now. When they ask you, do you make up things to make them look better or do you not shy away from badmouthing? I would have a lot to say, but I feel miserable talking about this company at all, so I just respond by saying that everything is fine here.

Big difference between bad mouthing and speaking the truth. When someone asks me a question I speak the truth, My truth may not be the same as someone else's.There are some SM with their noses so far up the RMs behind who would say its wonderful and marvelous. Others who are not the chosen ones and could not care less about the job and company may say it's awful. Then there are the invisible people, that's where you get the truth. Nothing to gain with a false review
Pour praise and your "badmouthing" are another form of dividend due to the family. They've earned your review.
I used to suggest this company to graduating seniors, promote the MIT program, the internship program, etc. Now, I question why anyone, other than student employees, come to work for this company. Do they not research?
When you see 3 or 4 long term, late in their careers,RM from the same group all jump ship, by choice at the same time you know how bad it is.
My w2 is less now than 10 years ago. No raises, sh–ty bonus plan, and it doesn't matter if you run a profitable store, that only gives you a little job security.
Agree with the first comment. This was a wonderful place to work until MLS was handed the keys and the family abandoned the employees. Hiring no longer came from within, hype replaced facts, acquisitions became and remain horrendous. Tell the truth when asked, you’ll feel better.
Character and integrity aren't what you do when others are watching, it's what you do when they aren't. Like Jiminy Cricket said, let your conscience be your guide. Or don't. Being yourself can be the absolute worst advice for some.
Speak the truth. You will feel better by being honest and open. Maybe the people listening to you will help you find a better job. Don't be bitter or angry. Good Luck
If you worked for Follett Prior to 2000 you worked for a great company.
Around 2012, 2013 there was a seismic shift in the company.
Private company so it had to be the family. What did President O say, the white man’s greed runs a world in need.
MLS said at the 2013 Christmas party with AO’H standing on stage with her, MY ONLY JOB IS TO MAKE FOLLETT (family owned) STOCK WORTH MORE.
Paradigm shifted from taking care of our clients, delivering outstanding products and services to making the family’s stock worth more.
Can you say something good about that?
