Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Thinking about going to a minor league company?

I’ve met a lot of very friendly people here (and usually those were the more competent ones), but there are a lot more of those I’ve never even met because their arrogance transcends all boundaries (and who are mostly less competent).
It’s some kind of rule here, the less competent a person is, the more arrogant they are. Someone mentioned already that they didn’t imagine COP culture like this when they got a job here and concluded by saying “if this is what the big leagues is like I’ll go back to the minors”. I totally share that feeling.

Layoffs and career advice are all part of the same pot of stew. You cannot really separate the two.

Please go.
This is a discussion forum to discuss layoffs, and since you are not capable of understanding the difference between layoffs and career advice I think you fall into the category of incompetent people you are describing.

So true! Small O&G companies are completely full of egomaniacs. Most of them used to work at a major and were envious of how much the CEO made and tired of being bossed around. You think ConocoPhillips is a toxic cesspool full of self-centered narcissists? We're Mister Rogers' Neighborhood compared to those places.

Haha, if you think the majors are arrogant, just wait until you're in a company full of independent contractors who hate all new regulations, libertarian is the primary party leaning, and think all W-2 employees who aren't their own boss are drooling mo–ns. Everyone in mid majors and minors is out for #1.
