Has anyone else noticed that Voya (401k admin) and Computershare (stock transfer agent) are extremely difficult to work with for rollovers? Wait times to the call center are 20+ minutes and when someone finally picks up, they are incompetent and can't answer any questions...

Unlike apparently many others here, I recently rolled over my Voya account (due to fake PIP/ layoff) and really had no issue. 20 or so min on phone, checks arrived a few days later. As another commenter has posted, would be interesting to see how much $$ has been moved out in total, guessing a lot
My experience continues to be lousy. Voya employees are id–ts and incapable of explaining the simplest processes. I have a significant number of xom shares-in-kind floating in cyberspace for over a month now. They were supposed to be rolled over into an IRA. Twice today, I was on the phone with Computershare, had to wait ~1 hour, finally got through to a phone ring tone, which then stopped before anyone picked up. Unbelievable.
My experience was great. Like @yjv+19TwsqcF said, a Financial Adviser specializing in large corporations is great. Now the 5 days it took for rollover was longer than I expected, it was much better than some of the posts here experienced.
There are some good ones in the Houston area.
I still haven’t received my retirement gift and it has been 8 months! They warn you it can take 3-4 months, then it goes into a black hole. Winning!!
Another “high quality” service brought to you by your friends in HR. You’re welcome.
YES. I rolled my Voya 401k over a few months ago. I finally had to get my new financial advisor on the phone with me to guide the Voya people through everything that needed to be done. Even my new financial advisor was shocked at how difficult the Voya people made the process.
I'm planning to roll mine soon as part of my exit plan. Thanks for the heads up.
(It would be interesting to see the total exit of assets from Voya's XOM accounts.)
That's a dang shame to hear.
I'm trying to time my exit from 401K to IRA (with a NUA holdover) based on XOM share price.
Yes - I'm too large in XOM (40% of the 401K - but was only 25% in November!)
Now - with these VOYA reviews, I'm assuming my 'timing' will be their timing.
Thanks for the head-up.
Sad.
Yes, their incompetence is shocking. My xom stocks have been in cyberspace for over a month.
