Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

It's PADP season but no communication yet... what's going on?

We were getting communications about PADP early on in prior years, but this year, nothing yet? Yeah, that doesn't seem fishy at all... Guess they're trying to line their ducks in a row for something big?

Do not trust any XOM HR process, any Manager, any Supervisor and any of your peers. The system is rigged to make you believe it is real, that it is in your favor, that it empathizes with you, that it understands you, that it sympathizes with you, that it is concerned about your children, your spouse,, your work/home balance, your health, your finances, your home, your well being. The company spies on your keystrokes, your emails, listens to your phone calls, tracks your cell phones, watches you on your lap top camera, reads your texts and tracks your card keys. Your managers interview your peers to find out what you are saying and your peers report what you are saying to your managers often times lying about it. This all sounds very harsh, but it is also very, true and very real. Highly ranked employees get PIPed, strange huh, NO! HR changing the PAPD process was an illusion, a magic trick, it was not real, it was to done to give us hope that things were going to change, that we would maybe have a chance at WINNING, WE ARE EXXONMOBIL. BLAH. Do not buy this b—s— they are trying to sell us. Buckle up, find somewhere else to work this outfit is now poison, and if you have to stay then trust no one and ride out the storm until you can get out. GOD Bless you All. 🙏

They are trying to figure out how to use PIP to cut headcount without having to cut the same percentage in every group. Some groups need further reductions others not so much. If they can’t figure it out they will do same percentage everywhere and then shuffle people around after but would prefer to avoid this.

@1efv+19T7SG6N sure am a mental genius, so much so I left months ago for a much better opportunity. My new job affords me plenty of time to troll people like you on this forum while making more money. Get back to work good lil' worker bee. Your day of reckoning is coming soon enough!

@1dtk yeah cause making a post after hours is the same as watching Netflix all day. You must be one of the mental giants within EM

I already see a hologram of my PIPd a$$ flying over Spring.
I've been gone mentally, spiritually and virtually physically for quite a while.
PADP - planning a distant party. Elsewhere.

That really is an excellent point. There is 0 positive reinforcement presumably in the system this year. It really is like the Hunger Games. Maybe they will start firing cannons off in the quad and beam a picture into the air of the PIP candidates as they fail.

I'm in EMIT and we kicked off ours, at least in my group, in Feb. Here we go, good luck everyone. May the best of the best remain.

Must be nice to be 30 year employees. Get out of here and don’t bother posting. The rest of us who don’t have the luxury of applying for jobs and watching Netflix have actual work to do.

I think some may have kicked of PDS season? Not our site, but a few people from other sites have called and asked if they can put me down as KO.
We heard April 1 is the big day for communication on % NSI bucket. Seems cruel to do it on April Fool's ...

For those who have checked out and are thinking they're tenure has come to a close, may I recommend some therapy? Suggest being honest to the bossman and tell them what you really think. It's not like anything you say now will help you keep your job, so you might as well have some catharsis.

Why communicate it when there’s not any expected positive action from it? No raises, no promotions, more cuts expected. They’re focusing all their limited remaining resources on damage control. Keep in mind HR was hit hard during the last round of layoffs as well.

Lol I was marked good last year and am already expecting the worst. So I’m doing the bare minimum then spending my days applying for new jobs, skilling up, and ofc watching Netflix. To my fellow “goods”, it’s fun y’all should try it out.

April 1 is the big RESTRUCTURE announcement date and June 1 is the last day you’ll be on payroll.

The PADP fun will begin soon. Lot’s of Goods and other highly rated employees from 2020 will slide down to NI and NSI this year to fill the empty groups.

2020: “You are doing a great job”
2021: “Your performance is unacceptable and you may choose between a PIP or resignation”

Don’t spend too much time on PADP. I can dress it up as much as I want, but my manager already has an opinion that won’t be changed. Nor those who report to me will change my opinion of them.
Spend too much time and a manager may wonder why you weren’t doing value added work. Spend to little time and some managers may think you’re not an EM team player. I’m the former, but the it follows you. No one here can give good advice. Some are EM robots. Some, like me are 30+ year SLS’s who in those years never bought into the way...
