Divulging severance details to others

They also included a confidentiality clause to the Agreement saying we are not to divulge any details of our severance package or terms to anyone but our spouse / SO and the like...

I really wanted to hear your opinions on this. What is the logic behind this, unless they are playing some games behind our backs with severance pay?

Because they do have different packages and don't want you to know.

They are one huge age discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen! They have overwhelmingly targeted older people making more money and then pick one young person to counter the age claim.

I've also seen higher proportion of older women let go. They hold your severance as ransom, so you will sign away your right to sue.

Because they’re full of BS lying and playing games. I’m honestly not in dyer need of money, and not so quick to sign and send anything back, I’m hoping this blowup in their face and they’re are slap with a fat law sue because I’ll gladly be apart it. People with same work level, and same years but weeks aren’t the same we know exactly why they don’t want us discussing it.

Because clearly the severances were not the same for everyone. Some directors were probably able to negotiate sweeter deals. Corrupt.

The logic is to cover their *ss - the less people that know details of your situation, the better for their image. Like most things with this entire merger, it’s B.S.
