Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Things are getting better

Say what you want, but things have been improving here lately. I might be biased since an a–hole of a manager I had quit (I have a feeling he was forced out) but even outside of that things have been looking up. We haven't had as many layoffs as we've sadly grown accustomed to and as a result morale has been picking up some. It's far from perfect, but for the first time in a long while I'm actually optimistic.

There's always a calm before the storm. How do we knot we aren't in the eye of the storm? When people feel the safest is when they are the most vulnerable.

First it was layoffs next month now it’s layoffs sometime this year. The never ending rumors. Anything to keep the layoff talk going strong!

Of course they are going to say workload looks good! But anything can happen those work loads are projections not done deals. More layoffs next year LC has to keep improving numbers.

I agree things are finally starting to get better, it’s been a long time since anyone here can be optimistic.

Quote, "How does the workload for next year look? Are they going to benefit from the renewable stuff going on??"

The work load for Generator is good this and next year, Steam will continue to be a challenge over all. There is no renewable work thats gonna increase hourly workers. Building 66 SCC operations is where the work load is already pegged for all of 21, 22, 23 and deep into 2024. Hourly headcount will HAVE to increase in order for GE to make good on all the signed contracts for blades made only in Building 66, Schenectady NY. Until another vendor can prove they can make it, there is NO where else in the world to make blades that have been sold for more than 18 gas turbines built in Greenville, all with spare sets to be made!!!! Some day the nay say'ers as well as the local's leadership will stop listening to s— asses and admit what they have been blindfolded about for the last year!! They will also learn to regret their lack of desire to have a true hand in whats been set up over there. Im wishing I took a job over there when I was given the chance, I passed, that was a serious mistake!!!

I’m sure it’s all smoke and mirrors and LC will have to make up that bonus he got somehow

It’s because SG and RM are gone. It will be even better when they are held accountable for what they did.
