Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Will it always be like this?

Are we now at the point where job security is a thing of the past? Where we'll have to worry about possible layoffs every day for as long as we work at Centene? I'm not sure I can handle that. My mental health is suffering already and it's just a matter of time before this starts affecting my physical health. If things stay like this, I'll have no choice but to find other employment. If I can.

If meeting productivity and then some, getting 100 % consistently on audit scores, never calling in sick, getting along well with co workers and MD’s and providers, following the rules, volunteering to work weekends and holidays to ensure TAT, wasn’t good enough, then no one is safe ... I didn’t kiss butt, am over 50, survived a heart attack and bypass surgery, no thanks to the joke of a manager that constantly bullied me and other’s, and a co worker had a stroke as well from the stress and bullying by the same manager. My advice, don’t let the stress nearly k–l you like myself and my co worker did. Keep your resume current and eyes open for something better...Centene is NOT worth dieing for...it has actually turned out to be a blessing to be RIF from this extremely TOXIC company

But whatever you do, don’t even think about getting intermittent FMLA for those mental health issues, allowing you a few days off per month for therapist visits! 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

Get out while you can. It is easier looking for a job while you have on, than when you don't (sometimes). I stuck around because of the salary and the lies of being told we were safe. It will not get better. I was there 3 years, and I saw the layoff every year. Then there came mines. Free your mind, and Start looking.

Update your resume and start looking. Why stay in a toxic environment if it’s negatively affecting your health? You’re in control to find something out there that is a better fit and to fire this evil company as your employer. I was in your shoes a few years ago and took action as my health, and family is more important and ended this toxic relationship last year. You are worthy and deserving of a better work environment, as everyone who has had to endure the disgusting leadership at this company. Life is short, keep the faith.

It appears there will be additional layoffs in the future at this company. My personal opinion is in addition to layoffs, they will either sell in total or sell some of their acquisitions as there is too much overlap (eg; behavioral health, high cost d–g companies, etc). The positions cut during this most recent layoff had little to do with quality of work as many of these folks were awesome and carried their departments. It was more a compilation of age, age + salary, ADA accommodations, FMLA recipients or not being BFFs with inept management used in the selection. Keep your resume up to date and be open to moving on if the right opportunity arises. Your mental / physical health will thank you. Best of luck.
