Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Auto techs/queue and your pending

We used to have weekly huddle meetings where we would review our team and zone pending numbers. Last two months they phased it out, is it because they don't want everyone to know we're ALL drowning and it's not just you?

What are you doing to manage your pending? How are you handling inspect only assignments? How long are you holding on to something before you send it back as incomplete?

Every time I talk to someone in a different until I get a different answer on protocol. Does anyone have anything in writing about process or is all everyone guessing at this point?

Virtual inbound incoming calls are cake . Customers have the vehicles prepped for you . Queue is the worst ! 6-8 a day . Easy to fall behind . Shops send you 50 photos and a $15,000 supplement with crazy charges and operations . They refuse Virtual assist so you’re begging for photos .

You keep totals if they’re inspect only . Once liability is set turn you settle the total and get it moved if it’s the claimant .

Six estimates a day in a queue environment is a lot . Try it . 3-4 at towyards and Initial estimates plus supplements. If it was VA inbound that’d be pretty easy because shops are calling in with the car torn down and marked up for you . In a queue environment you’re tracking down the cars , negotiating storage fees, getting them to Copart , etc.

Upload and close out those inspect only ASAP, the file owner can deal with the endless inquiry calls after that, it’s their problem at that point, dey be slowin you down, boyo!

How is writing 6 estimates a day in a virtual environment alot? You must have worked a drive in for Allstate in 1982 too old timer

Keeping them as inspect only until claim owner tells you to settle? That makes no sense

Working 10-12 hour days plus weekends to keep up with pending because they’ve threatened to discipline those with pending more than over 15 inspects . We hang on to inspect only assignments and the file handlers let us know when it’s ok to settle them . We have to hold on to inspects for 5 days before sending it back . We have huddles 4 times a week and talk numbers and why we s— at survey and reinspect scores. We get 6-8 inspects a day . Constant phone calls from angry shops , agents and customers on why we haven’t inspected their cars . Reinspect scores are bad now plus CLF scores too. Not enough adjusters to work incoming inspects . Different markets pay differently and we’re now handling multiple states . Just crazy now!

Most of the people I know, including myself, have given up on even trying to fix this mess or resolve the massive backlog in pendings. The reason is there is no way to fix this when the staffing is so far under the needs for the volumes. We can't help fix such a thing when corporate puts us so far behind the 8 ball with their gross negligence and incompetence. They obviously don't care because it is not their vehicles sitting at shops for months unrepaired. A true sign if what the powers that be at Allstate really think about their insureds and meeting their obligations and responsibilities to claimants. Many of us are at the point of "f $$$ it". It will soon be India's problem soon by the sounds of it anyways.55
