Does anyone know if a voluntary retirement offer is being considered by Allstate?

What not target those that are 55 or older? Mostly, this is a group that commands higher salaries.

Allstate will never offer a VTO. They did it once several years ago in Home Office. So many people took the opportunity and left. Company lost a lot f people. VTO WAS A NIGHTMARE! Regardless - Allstate will never allow it again

You get a choice between a rainbow, a unicorn or a leprechaun's pot of gold...NOT they are not going to VTO they are laying off people. If they were going to VTO they would have done it before the first round

If you are laid off and eligible to retire, you can. Retirement is your choice but there are rules around the benefits that come with retirement...moving pension, health insurance, etc. VTO means whoever voluntarily terminates gets a package, based on the rules at the time of that layoff. I would be shocked if Voluntary termination offer was available this time around.

And for you union honks, the process will be outlined in union agreement. As well as your new salary, your new benefits package, your PTO, etc. what the pro union people have not told you on this site is everything becomes negotiable and starts at ground zero. Pay, benefits, time off, work conditions, measurement for employment, etc. do you really think a union can get you better “working conditions”, without giving something up you already have.

If you are in with hone office HR folks and 55 and over you may be able to have something worked out regarding this. I know of a few who were able to have retirement as an option over being laid off in 2020....but no it will not be something available and an option to everyone especially considering most areas are dozens of employees understaffed.

If under staffed now, not a chance

Wasn't an option in 2020, doubt it will be in 2021.

It was out of whack back then by choice of employees, not corporate. Now things are out of whack by corporate by design and planning in order to lower morale and set the table for mass outsourcing. Big difference in the eyes of home office.

After the situation several years ago when many more than expected took the option of voluntary retirement throwing staffing and payouts all out of whack TPTB vowed never again...but with this giant ball of inconsistency who knows what the clowns in Chicago will decide?
