I am going to take 30k pay cut and head to federal if things fall in place. I have another consulting offer which pays 20k more, but don't want to deal with hectic work. Decide what you want and go for anything - it would be better. I have worked with Directors and VP's who don't know domain we are hired in with ridiculous250k-300k , no wonder people under them leave every 6-12 months
I am leaving this year. Leaving IBM, leaving the IT industry, going into something new and different. The load is already off my shoulders while I make my plans.
@mxy+19RuAdeR You don't get a choice in IBM (Indian Business Machines) if are working in a country other than India.

As a developer, working hard work here doesn't get anything other than more work.
Even promos doesn't get more $ compared to amount of work.

Already left. Years of apologizing to clients for shoddy software and unfulfilled executive promises took its toll, but the weight was lifted moments after I told my boss I was resigning.
I left and I am soooooo friggan happy.
My resume is strong enough that I would volunteer to be RA’d in order to save someone else’s job. But IBM just cuts random old white guys sprinkled in with some minorities and younginngs in the name of diversity.

Hello from the US. Curious where you are. I understand it's not so easy to RA someone in Brazil or Bulgaria. Might be the same in Germany? Some of the guys in Germany are getting packages and so far no RAs....
I am pretty sure any big tech company would pay atleast 50% higher, just want to make some real tech money for once

Absolutely. IBM is clearly on its way to be medium size IT player. It is clearly going through a transition of rich people realizing they are just middle class now. It is absolutely better to jump now as Ibm is becoming less and less relents brand.
Sorry, this suggests you have a choice, in my country it will be forced resignation, there's no doubt this will be the case in several other countries. Make no mistake, this will be the case everywhere, not only IBM.
