Somebody mentioned there won't be another package offered because so many people are resigning that there won't be a need for it anymore. Makes you think, doesn't it? Has the work environment and culture worsend as much as it did so quickly specifically to run people out so they don't have to pay anybody else to leave?

I don’t think it’s a plan from senior management but it is an obvious consequence of layoffs, no pay rises, no promotions, no 401k match, horrendous hunger games style assessment process and miserable management causing unhappiness.......clearly all results in staff hating the work environment and wanting out. If attrition is higher than they want maybe some benefits might come back...
The one thing that’s true in exxon is never to attribute something to malice by what can be explained by incompetence.
Although there isn’t a Machiavellian plan (it’s clear none is driving this dump truck), the rules are in place to reduce cost:
- ranking is king: 8% pip-off again via that popularity contest.
- hierarchy matters: the only packages coming are the golden parachutes for DW and his boys.
All the rest is fluff: career plans, critical projects, innovation, digital, etc. It doesn’t matter. They will cut and pat themselves in the back for it.
I can assure you that this is not within some master plan. If you think there is some master plan, you obviously haven’t been watching close enough
The last round of layoffs resulted in people looking. Once you submit the first application of is easy to send the second, third, and do on. Pretty soon UOG hear back from one and start to do some soul searching on where will I be better off 5, 10, 15 etc years from now. You can only see so many people who have given years and years to the company go from being thanked for their contributions to shown the door or retired in place with no more raises or promotions before you begin to question what your future may look like.
