Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Relocating to another location

I’m interested in relocating to another location so I’m interested in how possible is that? Does anyone have a similar experience? I am changing my place of residence and it will no longer suit me to stay where I am now, but I am worried that it will not be possible and that I will lose my job.
I saw that someone here commented that they did not get any help when they were in a similar situation. Does anyone have any good advice?

Find a State run university. You actually get raises. If you forgot what that word means, it's a pay increase.

That is very good news, and I'm happy for you, no sarcasm there. I just wish it was what it used to be; normal. Good luck on your relocation!

If you're willing to relocate where they need you and it is NOT a lateral move they will pay your moving expenses if you stay at the new position at least a year. If it is a lateral move you can negotiate your moving expenses.

If you're willing to relocate again, to suite follett, they may enroll you in a training program. They don't pay to move you, but you'll keep working for this callous hollowed shell of a company. follett has always rewarded mobility. They can promote from within. Having a pool of people ready to relocate in exchange for an upward career path also enables them to eliminate high paid people who don't want to move (Sr VP, Exec VP and family exempted, of course).

It really depends. If you're an SM, is there a SM position open where you're moving? You'd still need to apply. Then, if you got the job, Follett may pay a relocation fee. When I moved to a new SM position, I got around $600 I think for moving costs. That was a few years ago, though. Not sure they even still offer that.
