It’s a real struggle to think of nice things about my personal experience with NOV. It’s a paycheck, if that.

There is life outside of NOV. Met a lot of great people and did great things while I was there. Facility closure was what made me look for something else and did get a significant bump in pay and fringe benefits outside of NOV working for a more progressive company that has a sense of urgency. If NOV had that sense of urgency years ago during the upturn the company definitely would have made more money.
I had some great times. I met some great people, I also met some rotten people. I feel proud about the things that we accomplished together. I have developed some life long friends and do not hold any animosity towards others. There is terrible leadership which is a simple fact but they will overcome it time.
Apparently most of you guys have gotten into the wrong field of work or wrong department. Been here 24+ yrs and still look forward to coming here everyday. I'm not a suit & tie guy but i am a shop hand with many years of field experience.
I was laid off last April, now I have a new job with a lower title, less stress, and 30% more salary. The Houston area is full of better paying jobs, and yes there are some great people at NOV but you know what, there are great people at other companies also.
I worked there many years. There is some amazing people but terrible leadership. Pete made sure he wasn’t going to get done and made sure he was replaced by someone worse. I’m a shop floor guy and can figure that out.
