Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Retirements

Retirements are hot and heavy. All departments. (Not just Hr/LD) Appears many are just fed up with constant change, people not doing their jobs, and inept management. I’m a positive guy, but I don’t see it improving anytime soon. With the New Operating Model soon to be rolled out, retirements will continue to increase, as we know with new rollouts, they won’t work correctly and we will have to use a ton of work arounds. The frustration level is at an all time high.

Just a thought– Make up your mind before making a supposedly definitive statement. i.e how can it be only about control, right before it’s about creating two classes, right before it’s all about political posturing?

Control. That's all it is about. The more they can control you, make you a minion, and make you their child is all they care about. They have no interest in their internal or external customer. It is all about making two classes of people. The rich and poor is their goal. It has absolutely nothing to do with inclusion because they want you to buy into their lies and grand delusion. It wasn't that way before Tippy. What they said they mostly adhered to but now it's all a political posturing game all set up for the benefit of "them." So sad!

Nope, but it taught me what I needed to know to deal with cuucks like you, want to try again? Third time might be the charm, although I have my doubts.

Nope, state champion wrestler here, no participation trophy’s awarded in that arena, and on my own since I turned 18. Feel free to try again.

@4ana Lol you sound like an entitled millennial. Bet you got the participation trophy from the soccer team. Your mom still washes your dirty clothes. I was smart enough to save and invest enough to payoff my home, cars, all debt and retire early. Work those SLO’s get those metrics and my pension.

Your worried about the “free life insurance”. I doubt you have saved enough to spend more than a week at the beach staying in the best western two blocks away. Then right back to the c-appy weather you chose for the other 50 weeks a year. Sounds like an awesome retirement, congrats. You will be on here a week after you pull the pin complaining what a tragedy it is that the select a gift program was discontinued when you have really had your eye on that set of steak nives for 30 years.

Not me mo fo. Agent here, I retired 10 years ago ( just haven’t given my official notice yet ). I spend a good portion of my time on the beach as a matter of fact. FYI, they took our benefits away long ago, no worry’s however, I still make a couple hundred k per year for doing nothing, more than enough to buy whatever benefits I might need. I will milk this gravy train until the wheels fall off then not look back. For the record, I don’t remember ever having a stressful day at work.

@3air exactly what I’ll be doing relaxing on the beach , while you slave away working hard to achieve the unachievable metrics. While they slowly take away your benefits, as you brown nose the uppers on yammer . Keep it up the good work, I need you to keep my pension funded and keep that free life insurance coming. #hamster

Your Time is a finite commodity. You can't have more of it, you can't have it back. Use it wisely.

Remember Popeye and Whimpee? Gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today! Whimpee wasn't dumb! He understood time value of money, present value and future value. Retire early IS NOT shameful. It's actually intelligent because you make more capital in the long run if you were a Whimpee. Remember! They'll never be able to buy the most valuable asset. YOUR TIME!

2rio. Think of it this way. Get out while you still have your sanity. The amount of money on the table is not worth losing it for an early death. The choice is a no brainer. You will be amazed how much better you feel without the abuse.

Never thought it would turn out this bad, after 30 years in estimatics I’m going to leave a lot of money on the table leaving at 55 but I have had enough and it’s only going to get worse. All the gravy claims are steered to DRP shops and all that is left is headache claims and problem shops.

14 more months and out of the clown show. Customer service is gone in favor of metrics and SLO. Will be more than happy to leave what was once a career and now just a job. I don't plan on being one of those sharing and caring employees dropping while still working.

Turning 55 soon and will have to leave to save my health. I wanted to make it to at least 58 or later but just can’t take the horrible stress of the ridiculous, unrealistic metrics that are impossible to meet without cheating and playing games to manipulate them (don’t they realize how often this is happening??) . My job is no longer handling claims - it is to get numbers. I dread starting work every single day.

When you retire, it is a detox. Once you have gone through detox, the world becomes clearer.

Yup. Told my boss recently I have had enough. Not worth it anymore. Don't trust my leadership. Don't like the sweatshop mentality. Can't wait to be done and put in my papers.

Part frustration. Part pandemic. Part the world is changing. With so much upheaval, it makes sense that people are making changes and even prioritizing their own well-being. At SF or anywhere else.
