I’m done with working every year or every other year about layoffs. Leaving the O&G industry for good this time. Would rather have security and peace of mind and a 20% pay cut. Wish you all the best!

I often said I would take a 10 to 20% cut to stay. Once you start looking outside O&G as an engineer or geo, you realize the change in total comp is more than 40% less. The internal difference in the comp from a 18 to a 19 is 40%. At that level, it is nearly impossible to replace your compensation.
@ @syp+19OoZkTF be very careful with words. Humility will do you good. You never know what can happen in June
Good luck to you. I think sooner or later more of the younger employees are going to wise up and realize they need to jump ship as well. If you have been with you he company more than five years and aren’t a supervisor yet you are doomed to remain at your current salary grade. Things are only going to get worse. I am l leaving with a severance package as well because the demands of the job are more than the rewards. No chance for promotion or any chance to switch groups without taking a demotion. This from a company who offers 2 1/2% raises after taking back 3 1/2% the year before but yet can afford stock buyback program of 1.5B at a time when are stock prices are high. RUN! Get out before they outsource you or the next round of layoffs.
Best wishes. Don’t blame you. Not worth the money
OK, bye bye.
