Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Lost direction?

I am not sure when was the last time I heard some clear vision and goal towards which the HV is heading. It may be because the HV no longer has any vision at all, please correct me if I am wrong. How that happened, I don’t know.
Without vision, it is very difficult to work, it keeps us down, and that’s very obvious.

It's not easy to identify or create the next big product that'll sell like USPV and VSP. IoT is very fragmented market so you cannot just expect every fortune 500 to have a "Lumada". Especially when it's not a thing that you sell but a business outcome. Its very hard to sell business outcomes.
So what is needed is say a small 500 member team mostly in the US which understands technology and integrates various products to produce business outcomes. The sales will have to be done through Hitachi subsidiaries which are into rail, water, power and what not.

Vision? There is no need for that.. the company is pre-programed with AI, ML, and autopilot. :) So trust me, it just drive :)
