RS is nothing but a glorified accountant. He does not have an engineering or finance background. The guy did not even perform a good ROI calculation on Directv and TW acquisition. The ROI calculations shows that T grossly overpaid for these acquisitions.
The biggest problem in T is that it values people who can talk about big ideas rather than people with a skill set who can actually perform.
The earnings for DTV and TW are well known for the year of their acquisitions.
Even you can perform a Return on Investment (ROI) calculation and come to the conclusion that T paid more than twice the reasonable value of those assets.
ROI calculation is not rocket science.
Your ROI calculations, completed after 5 years of known results, are not equivalent to what was known at the time.
When leadership positions are held by social promotes instead of executives (race, gender & azz kizzers) this is what you wind up with.
