Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Which orgs have layoffs?

Can anyone give more details about this:

I can not verify DCG layoffs but I know layoffs are in motion in other orgs so I would not be surprised it is across intel. Now. This will be the last punch, employee trust and morale will not recover even with the new CEO. Job market is good. There is already high turnover. It will increase.

OP @3knp+19H3G26o. I wonder which orgs have layoffs?

Google Intel retirement age and got the public info: Be at least 55 years old and complete at least 15 years of eligible service. This group of people would be encouraged to retire early?

Both. 62.5's will consider it carefully. While some pre-62.5's will get offened or p-ss-d

Does early retirement target those who meet the retirement criteria and still are working, or close to meet the criteria?

Sure, but how will he offer incentives for early retirement without getting tangled in the age discrimination trap?

I don’t think Pat wants any negative impact to the culture. I’d expect the offer incentives for early retirements to help get where he wants to be.

This is too specific.

What would the layoff be based on, under-performing products/business groups or individuals?

It's so cute that you still hope layoffs will impact toxic managers. How many more layoffs do you need to experience to know better?

FYI none of the comments here and OP here have an answer. Everything is a rumor taken out of someone’s butt.

You want to know about layoffs? Wait for intel to do them!

Pat really has no choice the company needs to shrink and refocus as they pivot. The only business model is broken and a more nimble company is a must.

Gone are the cut 10% but wholesale amputation is now going to be the focused.

God help you if you are the best digit on the part to be amputated.

Major parts of dpg are on chopping blocks. Optane will most likely be shut down.

All groups will layoff likely. Case in point IT infra group already are exceeding 1m$ headcount plan dollars overrun this will not resolve through attrition and will require layoffs no matter what BC says.

PG has traditionally done 10% layoff at VMware and will do a soft under the radar re-shuffle at Intel for sure. Optane PMM will be reshuffled to be absorbed in adjacent team. PG has a tough job of cleaning the deadwood without causing chaos at the IC level.

Is Optane PMM on the chopping block?

Hopefully any RIFs will target toxic managers, with ICs having an opportunity to VSP (and not a “VSP or else” ala 2016). Sell off some businesses that peripheral to the company, and then get to the hard task of fixing everything that is broken.

supply chain org is overdue for cutting, especially in the management ranks.

PG wouldn’t join and immediately do wide layoffs. That would tar him with the stink of BK, and plummet what little morale and trust the leadership gained by his arrival.

Resume services and Indeed is seeing new resumes coming from IoTg and D*G groups. No other resumes seen...so it is possible that these grouos have been notified of local org moves...now that rewards session is almost completed. This is independent of what ever PG us cooking up for May.
