Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Appreciate yourself, because Allstate won’t

I remember the whole budget year BS. They would always give me 1-2.5% for expected and then I found out, after talking to a coworker who’s production was less than mine, that she has never recd anything less than 3.5%. Her father had been a csl for the office we worked in. just an fyi to those who got less than 3.5, they are lying to you. They are only given so much authority and usually split the good raises amongst their favorites and save crumbs for everyone else. I worked 15 yrs at Allstate so I know what I’m talking about. Just remeber every hour of your life you work for someone else is 1 hour less you have to spend with your family and loved ones. They feel your time is not worth very much.

This is someone’s great post that I wanted to share in a new thread because it occurred to me only after the layoff that I missed irreplaceable moments in life because I believed that I would be able to achieve something worthwhile at Allstate, even though I wasn't not part of the clique.

After 24 years observing the yearly increases it rarely depends on production and metrics. The pets and nosers and s— ups always got theirs regardless. It's always at the whim of the supervisor. Early on 1990's increases seemed to be tied in with production, work product, customer service which was fair. 5% to 8% was common. The "good old days" are but a faint memory. What a shame the direction things have gone.
