Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

How to repair that relationship?

If your manager doesn’t like you, you should either repair the relationship or try to transfer to a new manager. Managers tend to like the people that make them look better and will find work for them, keeping them off the “naughty list”.

I partially agree with this, @1nnw+19GtMjKS, but the only problem is that there are those managers with whom it is impossible to improve the relationship in any way. I tried and gave up. He was hostile from the day one and nothing ever changed for the better. Until I got laid off.

Current leadership needs a wakeup call,
No more townhalls, improve communications to the actual workers. I had a manager recently tell me he was too busy to actually talk to his direct reports, so he said he doesn’t bother but informs Herman he does.

My manager is a spreadsheet manager, just does what the manager above him instructs.

You can't feedback just gets ignored as it doesn't fit the tick box from above. Just one way top down.

Why dont they get a bot or automate the process, I keep wondering why they need so many yes men tick box layers. If it's only one ways comms the code should be easy no difficult AI or logic required and a big cost saving delivered, win win.

I don't understand this post, my manager is a People manager and he isn't involved at all with my day to day job function. I only talk to him at review time or requesting time off. in my mind this is a stupid organization structure and we should get rid of it.

My Business Lecturer at University once told me that corporations only really do two things over time: they either flatten the organization and consolidate responsibility or they push responsibility down the chain of command. And about every 5-10 years they reverse whatever they did before. It makes the senior execs feel like they're doing "something"

DXC said that employees are important for growth and sustainability of our company. But actually DXC's leaders who remain before merged CSC and HPE have be interested in protection themselves. Then they force us several harassment.
