Whenever you treat people like this especially in the middle of a crisis it really shows the values this company stands on. You lose 12 million dollars and start panicking, WOW‼️ This is way bigger than 12 million dollars worth of loses, this company has bit of more than it can chew and us work ants are paying the price, Centene works off government contracts why are you not helping the government in trying times as such , These recent layoffs will certainly not help the struggling economy, and what will people do when the unemployment benefits eventually come to a halt , jobs are scarce and giving folks the running around creating anxiety knowing dam well they are not going to hire you from jump street we are screwed if the government don’t figure this out quick. God bless America........

Centene headquarters are in St Louis, MO, not Tampa. But yes, the writing is on the wall that this move will happen (moving from STL to Charlotte). This company is playing games with people's lives at this point and doesn't seem concerned.
Centene or companies for that matter don't lose - Why do you think City of Charlottee gave $1B(that's a billion) to Centene to move headquarters from Tampa to NC.
There is no shame in taking government handouts for something that is completely out of your control. You also just left a company that literally survives off government handouts. Wealthy CEOs get
Government handouts and incentives worker bees don’t get. Don’t feel bad about collecting a check for a little bit.
I applied to over 200 jobs with no response. It is my age. They let me go before retirement. it shows on my resume. I cant make myself young again.
I guess I could take a huge paycut and lower level job and start over again.
The job market is really bad.
- There is no rush right now for the employer to higher
Now as far as Centene will lose in the end. No. I know you wish that but think what would happen. All employees would lose their jobs. As long as people will apply to Centene and work hard it will survive. And Centene is posting like crazy right now with plenty of applicants.
Wishing your evil boss would be fired. Not so. Wishing the stock price would go to zero. Wont happen. Even if the CEO is fired, that person will have millions in settlement.
Yes, you are mad. Lots of hate. Best to move on. Otherwise it will eat you up.
For us old folks, it is devastating. I was not blindsided. I knew it was coming and prepared. I knew months ago. How did I know? Someone made a comment in a meeting forgetting I was on the call. That is one advantage of not being in the office.
So a chapter in my life to work for some of the best and worst people in the industry.
- Jobs posted are not urgent and they can wait
- Too many applicants.
Do I give up hope. Not yet.
Yes!! The games that are being played are terrible! I can’t believe how many job postings that I see on LinkedIn and so many people are still unemployed. I’ve seen listings that have sat for months. This is my first layoff and it’s so surreal. I’ve had 5 interviews since this layoff last month, and still waiting for a decisions to be made. Sh–s crazy. We all need to work to survive, we aren’t trying to sit on our asses and ask for handouts. Why the song and dance to actually get a decent paying job. Literally trying to earn your keep and being tossed out like trash and overlooked.
