Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

March 3rd’s meeting

My guess about today’s meeting will be about Storage Class Memory if not, it will be about layoffs.

Did he articulate a vision if any at all? Better products? Something to look forward to?

GK made it clear as mud that this company will persevere through these turbulent times. He is not going to transform the company with his lack of vision provided to his employees. No one knows what he is talking about when he speaks but I think that’s done on purpose. If you need to replace us with cloud centric people then give us ALL a severance package so you can move on.

I found out in January that some people received raises and other where in the dark (me). That was the tipping point for me. I have since left and encourage others to do the same. Once I found out what the market would pay me I really had no choice but to leave. I suspect they are encouraging attrition and backfilling using their offshore assets.

Eh, I was given a raise and then laid off in the latest. I also fully planned for this RIF far in advance. The revenue numbers were not being met, full out staff augmentation, poor software, and as usual and most significant , horrendous management. HV is not keeping up and can not compete in the market, at least in the practice I was involved with.

That being said, I was on a technical team that was incredibly talented, one of the best I’ve been involved with.

Cut the head off the snake, along with the sycophants and it may stand a chance. My bet based on experience is it is ultimately doomed.

Lastly, it became a horrible place to work and function as a team, undoubtedly due to management.

Choosing to say 52% is safe to say when they really didn’t give out any raises. Just talk to ten people and I guarantee you five of them will not say they got a raise.

Sounded like areas without investment are likely to be laid off. Good riddance DS BU!

Another one of the 48% here. Had no idea there were raises. Kinda p-ss-d it was done quietly and disclosed off-handedly.

Total BS. GF’nK gave more of his “Trust Me” BS. Someone actually asked about further layoffs and he basically left that door wide open. He talked about wellness and how we are all essential for the future success. Totally lies. He claimed 52% of employees received raises. I guess I was among the 48% of losers and considered non- essential. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all the time. Trust me.

nah, town hall meetings are just to show case executives who are otherwise irrelevant to the company. it is just a way for executives improve their stage presence. Its an empty talk, don' give any importance to what they say. Many don't know what they are saying.

Town halls are used to cleanup after a RIF.

Dunno why you think they would announce layoffs in a town hall.
