Anyone know if working from home will be extended past July 1st?

Dream on.... Get your coffee cup, backpack and vaccine and get ready to go back to the office in July instead of so called work from home. Seems like a lot of work from home folks are at Home Depot these days.
But what will happen to the Office of the Future? All the money poured into the Dearborn campus of the future and the Train Station. All the Steelcase furniture purchased for all the open office remodels. Yup money flushed down the drain.
Remember all the surveys where Ford was trying to convince people it was a good idea not to be able to park near your assigned office location- promising shuttles and bikes for transport from a parking lot to your office?. Ha - no longer a problem as the buildings will all be vacant. Problem solved.
Maybe they will finally bulldoze some of the worst buildings.
Oh and what has happened to the Ford policy that contractors could not work remotely ? Ford policy required an LL6 be on site to supervise contractor while they worked. Guess that policy went out the window.
Since I am 30 years into a 5 year career, working from home makes this experience much more palatable.
Remote working is the future for current at home office workers.. Companies that don’t permanently adopt will be cast aside.
It is now a proven technology. My direct reports and their employees are much more efficient and satisfied with their careers now.
A Career Unsupervised is a Career Well Spent.

Yeah my boss is pushing for everyone to go back to the office.
He needs to be able to see everyone to ensure they are working, we were early adopters of the open office for this reason. I would be happy to never see his face again. It is bad enough that he calls me on my cellphone to berate me. Funny how he won’t do it on company monitored meetings, emails, IM or soft phones. He always calls on his cellphone to my cellphone to throw a temper tantrum, which tells me he knows what he is doing is wrong. Guess he doesn’t think people might record their cellphone conversations. Yeah I need to block his number on my cellphone.

Yes, I’ve already told I am never coming back into the office. Numbers game - my group in Mobility was spread out among 9 buildings but has been allotted just one building in Rotunda court. Don’t really miss it all that much....
We wouldn’t be in this predicament if travel and immigration was restricted. Allowing all these friggin foreigners in to the US was a bad idea. Global trade = global infection. I've been on site since we can back in May. I rather like the quite work environment and ample parking spaces. Fine with me if it was extended.
Have some pity on the meeting dominators and speech makers. They must really be suffering when there is nobody to see them present their words of wisdom and inspiration.

Abusers need to abuse, good eggs leave the company
Hopefully we can continue to primarily work remotely going forward. I have never been more happy in my over 20 yrs with Ford. Gone is the endlessly toxic office environment and games. In my observation, only the abusers are begging to go back because their office peer victims are key to their existence and future promotions. CEO after CEO state how they intend to improve the culture and environment, however they never clean out the management ranks. Leaving the abusers in place and of course nothing changes. In fact it gets worse as these people are promoted and gain more power.
