Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Try to keep jour job. How?

You are just as likely to be laid off at a different company as you are with Centene. The job market is tough right now and layoffs aren’t only happening at Centene. This is why I simply do not understand why people who were not part of the layoffs are already trying to jump ship as if the next company would guarantee them safe from layoffs. Reality check: nope.
Layoffs like this have happened at all 4 of the big companies I worked for prior to coming to Centene. Feel free to keep LinkedIn up to date just in case you ever do get “that zoom meeting”.
You still have a job right now. My advice would be to keep it. You could be next on the chopping block. But then again you may never end up on the chopping block.
________ _________ _________

I share the opinion with the person who wrote this. People are definitely trying to avoid the layoff and unbearable atmosphere that is currently in the company. However, many forget that there is no such thing as ideal company.

Unsure how the last poster was affected by the layoff, but there were many excellent employees let go and no existing staff that can begin to fill those voids and step up to do their jobs. This company is on a downhill slide brought on by greed and inept management.

It's definitely not just Centene. Nobody is ever guaranteed a job, even with a contract. Be part of the solution. I've never met someone who was widely regarded as part of the solution who ended up being let go.

Only way to keep your job is if you continue to and constantly praise your VP otherwise you are not part of the solution but THE problem.

How do I know? first hand proof of being laid off after having a FE(Frequently Exceeds) performance rating than the usual ME(Meets) last year.

There may not be an ideal company, but a company making billions, with the highest paid CEO in Missouri had other options. There was no need to cut 4500 positions (3000 people + 1500 open positions) in the haphazard manner that this was done during a pandemic. Good employees were clipped in addition to some that should have been let go long ago. In addition many that didn't get cut don't have job knowledge, but were buddies with management and therefore deemed necessary. It was a dirty process and one that I'm sure karma will eventually resolve. In the meantime, I'd be looking for a less toxic place to work. Every company doesn't do this.
