Bonus

I'm most likely taking a new job. What is the requirements to collect the full yearly bonus at TR? Is it March 31 or am I already entitled to it?

I believe you have to be employed by a cut off date ( when you get your review) but knowing TR, I’d stick it out until it hits your paycheck.
I know someone who had started a new position but was working from home for TR and pretended to still “work” at TR to get the full bonus. That person was of course a manager at TR. Such a joke.

Good point Rob, however being terminated is different than voluntarily leaving. Definitely check on it, not sure how, since HR is a little untrustworthy. May be info on the HUB or thePoint.

When my job was eliminated at the end of 2018, HR said that I would receive a prorated bonus if my last day was before December 31 and full bonus if I was still an employee on December 31. The bonus was based on time worked–the payment date didn't affect it. But my situation was different from yours and the rules may have changed so you should confirm with HR. Hope this helps.

Don't recall the exact wording, but I believe you need to be an active employee at the time of payment. Not sure if they would hold you to that, but better to be safe than sorry. People have gotten the bonus and resigned the same/next day. If you must start at the new company, take PTO to bridge the time. Make sure to make your new employer aware, these are common scenarios and they will probably just push your date, if needed. Remember there are a lot of good employers out there, who don't look for an opportunity to take advantage of you.
