Non of my non ford vehicles have this problem. This is a rust stain on the ford family’s image. Oh my! Does family members asking Bill if he can close down this website???? It is getting embarrassing. Bill says don’t worry we have been screwing the public for 60 years.

they should make the axles out of "military grade" aluminum because aluminum don't rust and it's lighter and fun to glue together

Even worse is this inaccurate data is used to drive vendor chargebacks. Suppliers are debited incorrectly when dealers submit the unwarranted claims. Happens everyday as part of Purchasing’s clawback program. Suppliers guilty and debit is instituted immediately and has to fight to get money back.

@2jmm

You missed the point of my post. The problem is with the dealership NOT the mechanic. The dealership needs to change the work process and time for the mechanic so they can submit a warranty claim. Ford is PAYING the dealership for the warranty claim. Submitting a $7000 claim for a transmission replacement with NO REASON why, and then billing it to he 02 sensor labor OP is not acceptable. Submitting blank claims totaling thousands of dollars is not acceptable. Ford has no idea what problems the customers are having, until it is too late. Does the dealership want the customer to return for their next vehicle, or buy a Toyota?

Before complaining about dealerships Go be a mechanic in a dealership, get paid by the job (not hourly). Now create a warrantee simple form that can realistically be filled out without a lot of time (for which the mechanic does not get paid). Dip into the corporate waste and provide cameras to mechanics and allow pictures/video as the warrantee claim without a dissertation, and see what happens.
Typical Ford BS everyone blaming someone else for decades and no one coming to a simple resolution.

@2mmz,

I see that you never worked in Quality/Warranty. Ford has warranty losses in the BILLIONS, not to mention it is impossible to track any warranty/quality issues in a timely manner. The dealerships are being PAID by Ford to submit a warranty claim. Since they are being PAID by Ford they should be obligated to submit a professional claim. and If the dealership is incompetent in making a warranty claim, the claim should be rejected. It can take over a year to find a warranty/quality issue to the time it is root caused and clean at the plant. Meanwhile the plant is just building "dirty". This is not about dealerships selling vehicles.. it is about making sure customers return to BUY a vehicle. How long would you last at Ford if you turned in reports to your boss that were unreadable? Ford keeps doing the same thing expecting different results... blame the suppliers and layoff engineers. Ten years from now the same thing will be happing … only with less customers.

@1amr. Yeah! If those damn dealers would quit selling cars and trucks we would not have these warranty problems! Get real dude!

The Toyota Tundra is a really really nice looking truck. The quality is fantastic ! Buy quality and don’t look back. I hear more and more current and past us auto company employees choosing an Asian nameplate especially after the next round of layoffs.

HA! Unbelievable.. The warranty claims are such a mess from the dealerships, (most claims look like a 5 year old wrote them.) It is NOT the suppliers fault issues don't get resolved quickly. Ford has to FIND the issue first! Which is next to impossible, with warranty claims written in gibberish. Ford can't prove or disprove anything. From working in Warranty/Quality most of the quality issues are from the plant. Also, most of the claims are grossly over inflated from the dealerships. Start with the UAW and the dealerships.. How long has Ford been building cars?

Make the part to print and wait for the debit is Ford Purchasing's new Warranty mantra:

As part of its new effort to cut warranty costs, Ford has told suppliers it will charge them upfront for half the cost of a warranty problem. Suppliers MIGHT get some of the money back if they resolve problems more quickly.

Pigs MIGHT fly too (don’t hold your breath on getting any recovery). Why would anyone supply us as a customer?

@1yap+

They will buy Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, when customers think of Ford, Chrysler or GM they just think of the UAW and bad quality.

From the eyes of our customers we must look incompetent. But since when did the Voice of Customers matter?

Guess only when they vote with their wallet and buy a Ram or Silverado.

All of the cost cutting targets being pushed by the Directors and Chief Engineers is k–ling the Quality. How about design it right, use quality components, and then leave it alone except for improvements!

HTT assumes even more responsibility as a reward for Purchasing putting us in this position. They will, again, shift the focus to the supplier despite full concurrence from Engineering and Purchasing. When will their teams failed performance be investigated.

Sounds like typical cost cutting from our purchasing friends. I guess all the employee reductions and subsequent promotions is really hitting its stride.

Buy a $60k truck that stains your garage floor but don't worry, rust wont impact performance or longevity...who makes this up in the head shed and expects customers to believe it? Look downstream to the resale hit for these trucks with rusty undercarriage components . One and done will be the new Ford customer experience.

From FordAuthority today (https://fordauthority.com/2021/03/2021-ford-f-150-owners-are-already-facing-rust-corrosion-issues/):

Rust is a sad reality for most vehicle owners, especially those that live in areas with harsh winters or near the salty ocean. But we expect our vehicles to last quite some time before rust starts to rear its ugly head. That hasn’t been the case for a few 2021 Ford F-150 owners, however, as many of them are already facing various rust and corrosion issues mere months after taking delivery of their shiny new trucks.
That includes Adam Daily of Spring, Texas, who recently told the Detroit Free Press that his 2021 Ford F-150 began showing surface rust on its axles and other underbody components within days of bringing it home. In addition to that, rusty water dripped off those parts and left brown stains on his garage floor. So far, he says neither the dealer nor the automaker has an answer for him.
“I’ve been getting ghosted,” Daily said. “Ever since I got this truck, nobody knows anything. My 2016 F-150 had 65,000 miles when I turned it in, and it didn’t look like this. This thing looks like it’s a few years old and driven in heavy snow-like conditions with salt on the roads. I didn’t know what to expect but I didn’t expect people to get ignored.”
“These parts look they were possibly sitting in water or somewhere where it’s wet,” Daily said. “People have images that are around the shock mounts, too. There shouldn’t be so much corrosion on a truck just built. I’m in quality control and I’m embarrassed I missed this. But I was so excited to get my truck.”
Daily isn’t the only person that’s expressed frustration with rusty parts, either. The Free Press spoke with 2021 Ford F-150 owners in seven different states around the U.S. who have also noticed corrosion occurring within days of taking delivery of their trucks. There doesn’t appear to be any discernable pattern to what trucks are affected, however, though Ford is currently looking into it.
“We’re looking, with our suppliers, into questions raised,” Ford spokesman Said Deep told the Free Press. “While some F-150 underbody steel components may show signs of rust this will have no impact on part performance or life.”

Don't worry. Jim "The Car Guy" CEO will get right on it after he's done tweeting pictures of the latest big boy race car he got to drive.

HA! As posted earlier, Ford has a massive amount of warranty issues. Vehicles failing to start..(WALK HOME) for one, and it takes over a year to find the root cause. These axles are likely a plant FIFO issue, the axles were likely sitting outside for weeks/months before being used. I have seen problems like this in the PAST with other parts. COVID IS NO EXUSE. Simple problem to prevent.. but they never learn.

What company "ghosts" their customers of $50, $60, $70,000 dollar NEW trucks.

Looks like sitting outside waiting for correction of assembly issues didn't go so well.

Another loop in the death spiral for the F-150's dominance and Ford's future as a stand alone company.
