What really bugs me as an employee is how cheap this company has become when it comes to work essentials. Just prior to the pandemic, they instituted some weird policy that we could no longer purchase 24" monitors for our office. I guess they feel we should be find squinting at 15" laptop screens all day long. It carries over to not reimbursing employees the paltry cost of a 24" monitor while working from home. Seriously Seagate?! You won't cover the cost of decent monitors for people in office or at home?? Who is making those decisions?

Yes, the company has it's (short-term) interest at heart when the small monitor mandate comes down. Your feelings, your morale, and your ability to do the job just don't trump short-term savings. Please see it from a top exec level: if they don't play these games, how will they get rich?
Reminds me of the movie "Brazil" where they had giant magnifying glasses in front of a tiny monitor.
Who is Dr. Pom ?
Dr. Pom, is that you?
Seagate owes you jack $hit. Why do you expect CEO, BE or CIO to care? You sound like a spoiled teenager in America.
Where I work, we could take our monitors home the week or two after the lockdowns started and eventually we have to bring them back. Whenever that is...
I spent my bonus on toilet paper and the gas bill. F&GCK
Yeah, they have no idea what people do/need. They think software engineers are "typists". This continues the trend that's obvious. We are to be more like contractors and mercenaries for hire. That means you provide your own tools, office, and supplies to do the job. Act accordingly. Look at the HR policies looking to pimp you out to other departments and encourage mobility. It's kind of like trading slaves to try to squeeze more from you for no benefit to you. So, yes they will provide less and less benefit as long as they think there's plenty of people to take your place for less. We are viewed as replaceable cogs that are identical and unspecialized. This is direct from a former executive to my face. Good luck and prepare!

What about toilet paper? Shouldn’t the company pay for your toilet paper too, now that you have started sh–ting at home and not at work anymore ?
