My last day was February 2. I'm starting a new job nearly a month later to a day. The pay is about 10 percent lower but benefits are better so it evens out. I hope everybody else was also able to find new employment by now. I just thought I'd post this as an encouragement to those who are still looking. There are good jobs available, you just need to be persistent in your search.

I was kicked out last May and it took me almost 6 months to find another position in engineering. Lower pay but good benefits and still got a raise from working only 2 full months in 2020.
My wife and I were both able to find different jobs starting the day after our separation dates. I took a relatively big pay cut, but it's hourly work with overtime, and I'll move closer to family. And the culture is so much better.

Timing is everything! Big news coming to be revealed this week. I just can’t wait for the ball the drop again....said no one.
I got an offer exactly a week after my separation date and start work in March (engineering) in a better location closer to family and friends and the pay is basically the same but no pension. I think I will have a better quality of life now and maybe a lower quality of life in my older years; seems like a worthy trade off without children in the picture. Those with a family may have to live with some tough realities but it’s not like I scoured the labor market,just a general feeling about lack of pensions.

Congrats, same thing here, I was laid off last December and started searching only in January and had a couple of interviews but still waiting for a reply. I am currently working as a full time contractor on an hourly basis with overtime pay.
To people who were affected, there is life outside of XOM and it might be even better than what you have right now, don’t be sad or frustrated life will go on and you will be glad you left this toxic environment behind you.
Congrats I left in September and haven't looked back! I get on just to post to these type of threads to encourage others to stay open to other possibilities!
Curious were you in engineering, IT, or some other group? Did you stay in Houston or move?
