Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

They did you a favor

If you were laid off last week, consider yourself lucky. I know it might not feel that way right now, but in the long run you'll be much better than if you had stayed here. The majority of my former coworkers who were laid off in the last 12 months already have new jobs and most of them are better in every aspect than CenturyLink ever was - including pay. My point is, once the first stress is gone, you'll be much better off. Just hang in there.

MUCH better off. I was on a job the other day when the customer says, how much experience do you guys have. We said between the three of us we have over 100 years with CenturyLink. She says wow, why did you leave? We said, they laid us off. She says, wow your new company is really lucky to have you guys. We said, no, we are really lucky to be out of there.

That place is an ever morphing pile of dog doo! All the talent is gone and now they have a shell of the previous company. Nobody knows anything and the amount of rework is beyond ridiculous! Like a dog chasing it’s tail over and over again! Now they work their remaining employees with mandatory overtime on the weekend just to keep up! A great way to obtain quality work and keep morale at its highest! Leaving that place was the best decision ever!
