Talk about a change

There was a time when State Farm was a place where you could expect to have a career and retire from. Since then, it has turned into an insecure job with no hope of progressing unless you know the right people. And the sad part is, I think the way things are now is here to stay. Everybody should just be using this as a stepping stone for a different job. There's no future here...

SF is a sinking ship. Use the dsyfunction to your advantage. Meaning, absorb all the free stuff and pay while creating an exit plan. Then GET OUT!!

The old timers didn’t screw over any newcomers. And they weren’t screwed over by those before them. And the next generation won’t be cheated by you.
They did what they were asked to do, and will receive what they were promised in exchange. Same as any other group.

That’s what stinks bout all the long timers at Farm they have had “careers” and lived up by literally doing nothing of essence or lived i. The real world. I’ve switched jobs multiple times out of necessity. You will see lotsa bonus and pension and salary go
To long term folks and leadership at the expense of wage hour and lower level folks who support them. It’s disgusting really and buddy system and @top talent@ rhetoric is all they say.

It’s not the way of all industry and the world. It was choreographed

I graduated from a 4 year university in Southern California in the mid 2000's. I was informed we would have an average of 5 different careers (not jobs). I've had 2 careers before SF, and 3 careers within SF already; and I still have half of my working life ahead. Sigh...

Read any business or economic articles and you’ll see that’s how the world is now. Things change so fast that there will be very few “careers” like we used to know them. Today’s college grads seem to understand that. They have no expectation that the job they get after graduation will even exist ten years later.
Our politics will change too, when people understand that we can’t get to the future by trying to revert to the past.

I feel sorry for the kids who just got out of college and get s—ered into taking underwriting or claims jobs and think they will just do that for a few years to get their foot in the door and think that if they’ve done a good job they will be promoted or hired in another area. They won’t. They have no clue that the majority of them will be stuck in underwriting or claims because it’s near impossible to get out. I know so many people that have tried to get out of those areas and they’re still stuck.

It’s curious to see the ones that seem
To have moved up on ranks and have no real skills but are now directors and managers now calling it leadership now. It’s freaky and dumb high school club like actually . HR is the same. The stars who grow up in SF, did nothing except delegate to externals and now big shots getting big raises and high fives and promotions and never were let go like other departments at were. Nepotism and buddies, country club types, third party pals and not smart technocrats.

SF grew and wants sheep. Not really or intelligence. They let go smart folks. Keep the drink and lazy club types and pay them way way more than worth to go literally nothing but just kiss a—. It’s all the same Managers and people acting like professionals and go getters do their reviews look good while exploiting others.

It’s sickening to watch. They are not worth what they are paid. Don’t be fooled.

Amen to that. However so many that have been loyal to the farm and have invested so much of their career , and sacrificed so much for this company that there is no other choice than to
Ride it out to retirement. Corp jargon over the past two decades promoted the career path to secure employees , now they are looking to unload the results of this tactic. Claims and product support will have the largest knowledge loss to the retiring generation. Poor planning will cost the farm plenty. Et , well not much to say there, still trying to save the old NECHo system.
