On the heals of news that some really good progress has been made with bringing strong and established union representation to Allstate do you think it can finally make a difference in improving work conditions and bringing the company's pay levels in line with the industry? It seems rare that unions cone into this type of industry. I only know if two national scoped insurance carriers that have union/Teamster representation if some sort.

HAHAHAHAHA.... union? Are you looking to move all of the jobs to India? Because that's what will happen. Your at-will employment will be terminated and Achmed will be doing it with more enthusiasm and gratitude for a fraction of the cost.
Airline pilots have Unions. Teachers have Unions. Police have Unions. Boeing has Unions. Why? Because corporations will not and do not treat the worker fairly unless they have to. This is the one thing keeping the big boys up at night. They need a good taste of Chicago thuggery....worker style ! India will be the next to unionize. Bahhahaaa !
Personally, I welcome a union at Allstate as it will expedite the impending collapse of this company!
If it weren't for cry-baby claims employees, this thread would have 80% less posts. You're not an uneducated factory worker living in 1890 with working conditions that are actually a threat to your health.
We get fair wages, 401k & PENSION, health care, HSA, life insurance, disability insurance, paid family leave, legal insurance, paid holidays, PTO... and get to work in a climate controlled environment where your biggest threat of injury is a papercut. Go labor for a day, you'll be crawling back in tears begging for more claims files.
Don't get my wrong, Glenn Shapiro can rot in hell, him and Tom are destroying this company. These are stressful times but decide you're either willing to ride it out until things improve or start looking for a new job.
The union talk is such b—s— though... please just stop, you're embarrassing yourselves. It would be another thing you'll have to pay dues for out of your paycheck and will provide virtually zero benefit to 99% of workers at Allstate.
This is America, no one has a gun to your head forcing you to stay... Do your job or go get a new one.
