So long as you don’t get the VP with same first and last name who has had many VP positions within the business and been a disaster at all of them, you may have a chance.

For clarity AKA Mr Bean and eats a lot of cous cous!

Interesting Position Available?
So head of engineering convinces our president to make a german company acquision to fulfill our president’s growth vision of 50+ fold in revenue growth with neither investigating that foreign business’ revenue books and then firing our corporate controller when actual books are opened and it appears revenues were highly inflated. Same dept head then positions & instructs his department not to assist mfg/supply to not tie up his department resources and then our president lays off the VP of mfg/supply? Perhaps the wrong positions are being eliminated.
Any recommendations to fulfill it with this type of leadership?

VP’s of sales come and go like subway trains unfortunately not quite fast enough. Within CAPS industrial (pumps and mixers), the last one we had where his first and last name are the same, was a disaster for us, he was put in the role by his friends, had done many VP jobs within the business, all with disastrous results creating divisions within the business and not a clue what to do when it came to selling pumps and mixers. He set about dismantling the structure which was working just fine, despite his reluctance to invest in people or marketing of the products and had now been out in charge of some other part of the business, no doubt creating problems for them too.

Where I’m coming from is that he is probably in line for this job as don’t think he has done that before, for help you all, when will they ever learn that although promoting from within is a good practice to have, when you have shuffled the pack so many times you need to recognise that all the good and capable people have already been let go by people like the double barrelled name bafoon, AKA Mr Bean!

As far as I know, companies have to post openings publicly. I wouldn’t be surprised if they already had a name from within lined up... can’t teach an old dog new tricks, time for Lassie to go behind the barn.

Whoever it is it doesn’t matter but it says a whole lot....normally the company promotes within, mainly the A-kissers become directors or VPs but in this case this talentless company is searching externally. Maybe someone figured out they have have nothing & all the experienced hardworking folks were booted out. Now they in a bind...pathetic leadership!
