Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Oleboy

XOM was a great company to work for and it still has some great people with good morale ,easy to work with and learn from. I’m very grateful for every bit of the exposure ,technical growth and interpersonal skills developed working at XOM. I don’t regret putting in the good work for a second .The problem was and will be the Chuck and Buck good ole boy system that will never change no matter how many I&D presentations will be rolled out and displayed on 1000 ft screens .Especially after being empowering Mr Buck to move people up and down like a roller coaster .It is not what we offered and sacrificed .But it sure is the chuck and Buck methodology to promote Doug.Of course reason is as we all know from day one Doug has great hunting skills and knows how to talk fancy too.But let’s get the other hard worker reliable guy on pip coz he ain’t from around here .I won’t lie that I’m very glad that Buck put me on PIP to give me the option to leave chuck’s territory with excellent pay package that I spent all on a very well deserved 3 months vacation.He also gave me the opportunity to avoid feeling that I’m less or 2nd degree all the time . BTW I’m currently making more money with less stress and BS (I like the rhyme) for my technical knowledge not for the love of my lifted truck .Also no buck or chuck here as they simply won’t pass the IQ test for the gate security guard position . Seriously speaking I don’t think they really can work in a smart competitive environment where evaluation is based on merits not best camouflage outfit .Sure not gonna miss their stupidity!

What a load of drivel or dribble going on and on.
Stream of consciousness from the barely conscious is not interesting, pard.

@tft+198HOos7:
"Those that don’t fit in at EM are not going to have a career at EM no matter how hard they work," These are the people who actually work in EM. The gravy train riders are usually part of Chuck / Buck team.

If hard work is not the key to fitting in any company's culture, what is? Ahh it is the "good ole boy system."

OP, Those that don’t fit in at EM are not going to have a career at EM no matter how hard they work. I fit in at EM, had a significant career and made more money than I ever expected before finally retiring From your post it appears that you were not a fit. In my time have seen several engineers try to fit at EM without success. The right thing is just to move on. For some, the hard part is not realizing that they don’t fit before being let go. Everyone around them senses that they don’t fit and are usually relieved when they are finally fired. Take care and good luck.

Chuck? Buck? Doug? Sounds like you were working in a plant someplace and forgot to open a valve and now you are complaining.

Y'll need to buy a vet stingray and show it off to Chuck / Buck. Also give 'em ride to the steakhouse during lunch and talk bout the vet all the time, also keep some fishing rods in the trunk for good measure. You will never have to worry about pip ever again.

I know you won’t be surprised if I tell you Chuck ,Buck and Doug are on the phone all the time while walking .We know no one would really say anything in their territory.

I’m right there with you. Took the PIL last July. I purposely don’t use handrails and walk & talk on the phone, just because I can. Don’t miss those damn speed cameras on campus.
