I was thinking, whether you are sitting under a shade tree in the hot summer days at a local campus watching your clock, or at the local hardware store shopping just wishing you had at least 1 install to do a day would be awesome. Then I thought gee, I am getting paid for doing nothing, how great is this? Then I realized that one day all good things come to a end. One day Windstream will shut the lights off if the local electric company doesn't do it for them. So I left one year ago on my own decision. Now the lights will stay on. I know it is hard for some to believe, but there are better things down the road

I was close to $100k a year too...quit it and went to a new job at $75k but much better benefits...and zero on call
I was a net tech making $115k a year...gave it up just to get my life back...
Glad to see some of my former co-workers kept their jobs. Alot of people are lifers. They know their job and do it well. After OT many of us Net Techs made over $100k a year and six figure jobs do not grow on trees.
Cool story bro.
