Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Are you still trying to be a top performer?

After my colleague and friend, a big workaholic who gave this company more than one hundred percent of himself for many years, was axed, I realized some things. He was the man I thought with least chances of anyone to get axed, and that’s exactly what happened.
Moral of the story: it’s not worth the effort at all, because the effort here has never been less valued than it is now.

Not any more! Just trying to fly under the radar and praying for a severance offer.

@eyq+195LkAGq be honest, you've always had the same ethics.

OP - 55 and older were targeted. There were a few others thrown into the mix to cover their azz - but it’s obvious who cost the company the most.

To current Allstate employees. Put as much as you can into your 401 K now. If you manage to work until your close to 55, you will have enough money put back to avoid having to find another job

As a top performer in multiple areas within the company and a former team lead that that actually left that role as I didn't feel I was doing enough for the company and customer I stopped giving 100% last September when I saw how this company handled the layoffs in my particular area. After seeing the high performing talent who was let go, the way the company handled the layoffs, and the sacks if moral and human sewage that Tom Wilson, Glenn Shapiro, and crew are I will gladly work at 70% effort with less stress in hopes of being on the layoff and severance list going forward. I know many employees who have gone the same route. I think I now know more people hoping to be laid off in the future than scared of being laid off. Also many I work with considering the sad state of this company the poor morale is essentially employees being upset that they weren't laid off looking back. This company is beyond hope and beyond repair thanks to the borderline criminal incompetence at the top on down. Cruise control at a low gear is the only way to go now. Going all out and giving 100% means absolutely nothing in this company.

Nope, I do the bare minimum and shut up and do my work. This company puts nothing into my career so I put nothing into this company. I still do my job correctly but as fast/easy as possible. Always just above the production they want but no more. I could get laid off at any minute.
