Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Resignation

Well I finally had enough and resigned after a decade settling property claims. I am so disappointed with how Allstate has decided to treat its loyal employees. The paradigm shift that occurred in December was put into place with a total lack of foresight, training and plan to be successful. Property is in complete disarray. Employees and customers are utterly demoralized and in a state of shock. The workload is not sustainable and everyone is witnessing a slow motion train wreck. I really hope someone takes notice soon because Allstate is doomed if this goes on much longer...

I'm in property as well and have already reached out to recruiters to get out of this hell hole. I know many others who are leaving as well or just coasting, along with with me. I plan on either getting let go or hopefully finding another job before that happens. With 4 young kids who aren't in school and a husband that already works 60+ hours a week, the working from home situation is just awful. The sad thing is I actually was satisfied with my job and thought things would be ok when I wasn't a part of the huge layoffs, but boy was I wrong.

Std covers mental health. I believe first 6 weeks are 100% pay and 60% afterwards. Worth the cost in copays to get hour sanity back and a paid leave.

I was in the same situation, fed up stressed out mentally and physically exhausted. Had to leave Allstate to save myself. I think you did the right thing, I was at a point that was beyond waiting for severence. Disgraceful conduct of this company destroying their employees. Best wishes on the next move.

Ride it out and collect severance.

Indians have been doing legal work, high tech, and accounting for decades. They even have schools that teach Valley Girl accents and have names like Emma Smith. They can handle mindless grunt work like claims that are happily bureaucratic and put up enough annoyance and barriers so claimants don't pay out as well as the next girl, and for a fifth of what you're getting paid.

Unless you had something else lined up or were on a UN for performance you should have stayed. Like the posts below said there will be more layoffs and severance this year

I really don't have an opinion on Skippy resigning one way or another but I can confirm that India will in fact be handling property claims as well.

You're a fool. The next round of layoffs is only 3-4 months away and auto and property claims is expected to be hit hard as India claims rolls out. You could have half a$$ed it, watched the train wreck continue from within and got a little severance for your trouble. That's what I'm doing. With voluntarily resigning you have given up severance and likely unemployment at least in most states.
