Thinking about accepting a new role with Allstate, does anyone know if I will have to pay my severance back if so how much?

RUN! Leader friend of mine has beef riffed 3 times - who the hell does that happen too. And he’s looking to go back if possible. SMDH
WHY would you return to a company who told you that you were not good enough to stay?!?! And how terribly employees are being treated? How awkward it would be to return after being forced out. Move on and find something halfway decent.
Could you be comfortable enough knowing that they already laid you off once and that they would not do it again. If you need me back after putting me through a layoff you would need to allow me to keep severance get a raise and a labor contract. This is why unions were created.
Yes, pay back severance and take a pay cut.
This was part of the plan, think about it!
Everything about this RIF was calculated!
Seriously think they will let you keep your severance AND take a new position? Not sure you are qualified to work there or anywhere else if you can’t see the nonsense in your question
Do you owe it if you wait a year? Of course that will be too late as India Will be answering the phone.
Anonymous is correct
You pay back severance pro-rated. From you final date to your new position start date you keep. Severance for any time from your new start date to the timeframe date that the severance was for you would pay back as a condition of your rehire.
Example: you get 6 months severance. Your final day was 11/30. Your new position start date is 2/1. You keep severance from 12/1 to 1/31 and pay back severance from 2/1 to 5/30/21 As that is the time that you are now re-employed by Allstate.
