With Frontier moving towards it coming out of bankruptcy having the same owners as WS, when will the announce the merger?

lol...click bait...just like the clicks of you on the unemployment page when this happens. Frontier has the go ahead and Elliot isnt going to sit and watch his investments go to waste....but you can sit and watch the ship go down and listen to the band playing on the quarterdeck
What an absurd post. Here it is April and no merger? This is a notch above click bait....
The plans are already in place and there will be an announcement soon. I agree that there are alot of moving parts and UNIT will be a big part of it. More smoke and mirrors accounting to follow moving assets between ILEC companies and cutting out CLEC. Most of that network will just turn into type 2 off net circuits to the buyer of the CLEC assets.
The BIG issue I have here is execution. I know there are alot of lazy people at FTR powered by the unions to impede progress. The executives see all of these synergies savings of 1+1=3 and we all know that is not the case. This will end up being another failed merger just like Earthlink, PAETEC, Windstream, and others.
As for the WINterstate network who really owns and manages that now post bankruptcy?
Circuits? Buildings? Transport gear?
There is no future in the copper, you cannot polish a t–d.
They can keep Winterstate and the dozen or so CLEC offices that support it and close the remaining 95% of the CLEC sites and network down. This network is all TDM from the 80s and 90s. They have more DSL customers then they do customers dropping off the Cienas. Lucent DMX carrying the sonet traffic, CAC muxes to hand off T1s, Paradyne DSLAMs and Nortel UE9K. Thats the WIN collos. The exception is Winterstate. Which is also somehow unprotected fiber paths with constant outages. I recall Winterstate being down for a week while they waited on contractors to come troubleshoot and make repairs because the techs in the area only knew how to wire T1s. Windstream doesnt train their personnel, they outsource everything.
The clec does carry ilec traffic...but they are moving those assets to the ilec. With 5 cages in some of my colos all carrying copper traffic...this can’t go much longer
CLEC carries way too much ILEC traffic to think of closing it down. Same with Winterstate.
I don't see ILEC turning up Terabits of capacity for a major online retailer.
If we were unionized, would you still hate us?
We all know an ilec merger is coming, what we don’t know is how much of the clec will be cut out and sold?
