I am a territory manager with National General. These comments about layoffs are concerning but seem to be mostly affecting claims and customer service. Has there been any word on the marketing department, specifically the field reps? Will they be looking to eliminate positions there as well?

Tommy, you’re reading this ? Or, is it GLENN ? Either way, you call us pathetic losers... how do you sleep at night knowing basically the entire workforce loathes you. And regards you as a piece of fecal matter. Both of you.
Get used to saying "I was a territory manager" because every marketing person I knew that was in the field is now gone, some had been with us for not even a year.
your job is expendable, outside marketing firms can do it cheaper for Allstate.
Love seeing those in the mothership with no understanding of IA side.
Also, National General is the go forward brand and their leadership is running the merger of Encompass and AIA.
Ron and Ken are both out and only Pat was giving a landing spot after they sent him there in the first place.
There should be plenty of room for the people still here with the way people are jumping ship. Good luck
You folks ever think maybe you just lash out because TW & Co found they can do fine without you and you’re butthurt because we will move on without your sorry a– holding us back? You can’t be positive for someone else that has an opportunity? Why - because you don’t? Ever think maybe the problem was you and your poor attitude that got you shown to the door? And if you are gone already, or if you’re sitting in a contact center - what makes you think you can comment with any certainty as to what the future holds? Nada - you don’t know anything and you’re assuming the behemoth mother ship will crash without your own brand of snarky BS around the water cooler. Pathetic bunch of losers - circular firing squad indeed!
You Allstate claims adjusters are just too incompetent to have been hired by State Farm lol get a life and quit your complaining - we don’t have those problems here!
Considering the National General brand itself will be absorbed into Allstate and no more there will not be a need for any kind of marketing. Allstate already has a large marketing area that was even hit by the 2020 layoffs. They may keep a few in NatGen marketing and role them into Allstate's marketing but many of the NatGen marketing positions will be eliminated eventually like other NatGen departments for redundancy.
wtf are you even talking about? I’ve never seen national general advertised anywhere. Yes I understand they still have marketing to agents that sell it but otherwise I’ve never seen a print or screen advertisement for the carrier
“ all when was the last time one saw a National General commercial on TV or anywhere...”
wow - this shows how you folks really don’t understand anything about the industry nor the independent agency distribution system. No wonder TW had to buy a carrier - because you “Allstaters” don’t have a clue - you’re all a circular firing squad. Amazing. Certainly not the industry all stars here....
You are likely safe for a year at most and then they will be getting rid of the brand, getting rid of redundant jobs, and will just have an Allstate sales/marketing.
If I were working for National General right now I would be getting my resume in order, getting my LinkedIn updated, and get on the horn networking. I don't know of any specifics myself but if the past is any indication.
I was a field rep for Allstate. They laid off 75%ish of them. Start looking now
Considering how much Allstate puts their marketing brand on a pedestal I would assume those from the outside marketing would be at much greater risk of elimination for redundant positions than internal Allstate. After all when was the last time one saw a National General commercial on TV or anywhere else. To be honest and not meaning any disrespect but I did not know of National General much at all prior to Allstate announcing the purchase of them.
Also Allstate's only purpose in buying National General is to secure market share. They have no real interest in the brand or keeping it as a separate long term entity. Just look at esurance. That didn't last too long. This alone should have all National General employees puckering up a little. I would think no one there is "safe" long term. Heck we at Allstate aren't considered safe ourselves.
Well with Allstate new genius marketing team (things left on top of cars, haha, funny....car on moon also funny haha) it’s definitely possible they will make cuts in marketing. Truth is no one, in any position, is safe
Don't ever think your job is safe! That is foolish thinking.
